I support this govt, confirm from my posts. But this story doesn't make any sense. And your comment doesn't make sense either.

The emboldened texts in your comment above is completely at variance with the narrative behind the so-called CNG. Cos if your engine rating and design is what determines if you are to benefit from the cheap fuel, how then is it to the benefit of the common man? The common man and the big men, who drive cars with better engine designs and engine rating
Most commercial buses in Benin called tuketuke ,majority of the audi taxis use CNG. My brother in law uses a Rav 4 and uses the same CNG.There is a big one station at Isihor in Benin

1) Compressed Natural Gas is actually cleaner than petrol, so it's good for the environment.

2) Nigeria has much more natural gas than crude oil, in other words, we have more gas than petrol.

But there's a problem.

If you check my posts above, you'll notice that this is not a new idea. This issue has been talked about from time to time since the 1980s.

The issue is, who is going to convert the cars from petrol burning cars into compressed natural gas burning cars? Who is going to provide the filling stations?

These are the questions and unfortunately they have not been answered in this write up.

God bless you. Atleast you have understanding of this. The link below explains it too.

Compressed natural gas vehicles require a greater amount of space for fuel storage than conventional gasoline-powered vehicles. Since it is a compressed gas, rather than a liquid like gasoline, CNG takes up more space for each GGE (gasoline gallon equivalent). However, the cylinders used to store the CNG take up space in the trunk of a car or bed of a pickup truck that has been modified to additionally run on CNG. This problem is solved in factory-built CNG vehicles that install the cylinders under the body of the vehicle, leaving the trunk free, e.g., Fiat Multipla, New Fiat Panda, Volkswagen Touran Ecofuel, Volkswagen Caddy Ecofuel, Chevy Taxi, which sold in countries such as Peru. Another option is installation on roof (typical on buses), but this could require structural modifications. In 2014, a test (by the Danish Technological Institute) of Euro6 heavy vehicles on CNG and diesel showed that CNG had higher fuel consumption, the same noise and production of CO2 and particulates, but NOX emission was lower.[18]

The consumption aspect has been my argument.

The consumption of CNG is higher when compared to PMS of same quantity, that is a lower mpg when compared to PMS hence it’s lower price. He shouldn’t sound like it’s a cheaper alternative.

They keep playing on the gullibility and ignorance of many Nigerians, as you can see a lot of em are already celebrating without facts finding.

So what exactly is the difference between CNG and PMS? There must be side effect which the minister deliberately doesn't want to talk about. No free lunch anywhere, even in Heaven.

Abeg people with info about CNG please what's the difference between it nd PMS that causes such a gap in its price?

I dey fear my 9ja people sha..
CNG means compressed natural gas ,the gaseous form of LNG which is in liquid form.some cars and trucks are already running on it and cars running on petrol or diesel can also be configured to run on it.the car will have a gas cylinder in the boot of the car.some fuel stations now have outlets for this CNG refilling. it has nothing to do with common man that is cheap publicity it's cheaper than petrol or diesel.

There is nothing like side effect Mr hater,
Your engine ratings and design will determine if you can use it or not.
Just like the jet engines, diesel engines etc

Oga next time, try to educate people when they seek answers. Never be quick to insult people

In the western world, they have 3 grades of fuel: Regular, medium and premium. Most times people buy the standard fuel and when your pocket is deep you decide to go for premium.

There is nothing wrong with what Sylvia has proposed. This clearly shows that some people are doing deep thinking in order to reduce the burden on the common man. Walahi!! I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria. Nigeria shall be great again

What you just described is the same thing been used in Ghana ,that is the conversion of the cars, but the gas they use in ghana is the same thing as cooking gas.
