I try to stay out of other people's business but when it come to my family and friends I stand firm. My friend is dating this dude who embellishes the truth. He told her that he was 35 years old and now she found out he is really 45 years old. He also told her he didn't have any children come to find out he has two baby mommas with three kids.

She confronted him and asked why were he lying, he responded that he didn't lie he just embellished the truth. Now, I know embellishing is adding more to what it is so that a lie right?

Even if you tell a partial truth with a lie, IT STILL A LIE RIGHT?

I wonder what else he could be lying about, because if a person can lie about something SIMPLE, what else could they be lying about?

Would you date someone who you found to be an embellisher? Can you trust that person to be honest? Or you don't care as long as you get yours?

Some people would say what is the big deal if he or she embellishes the truth on simple things such as amount of children or partners? To me if a person is not comfortable being honest with you then I see that as a problem because dating is about having fun and getting to know each other HONESTLY, there shouldn't be any hardship unless both party agreed on a commitment.

there has to be "some" form of truth in his statement to"embellish" it. that was the complete opposite, how can that be remotely linked?

that was a damn lie, fair and square!!! believing anything that comes out of this horse's mouth, from that point on, is what baffles me. . . . . . . . . . but i guess the desperation of some women (to not be alone) is stronger than i thought.

as for me, once a lie is out then the trust/honesty meter will go down and i will question everything that comes out their mouth. . . . . . . . . . . thus not worthy continue the relationship on the initial basis.

Whether you garnish the truth or embellish it it is still a lie. I am not insecure about myself because i am not perfect and i do not see my neighbour as being perfect as well. Therefore no need to put up a front when all you need do is say it as it is

Hiding the truth is just as bad as telling the lie in itself. That sound like its my ex, I wonder if he lives in Ohio.

There are men who is famous for EMBELLISHING in the States and other parts of the world. But I am going to speak on the men in the states since they are the closest,

They will say they have children, but it not theirs. It there godchildren or play children. Later on the women find out that THOSE are his actual kids the reason why men in the states lies or embellishes the truth about the kids they have or don't have because women in the states typically don't date men with children and if they do they are LAST RESORT,

So the men will embellish the amount money they have, where they live, how many children they have, where they work, and what type of education they get. They may tell the truth but embellish it to appear more than what it is, MY QUESTION WAS can you date them if they embellish the truth even if they tell a little truth,

But I got your point when you said an embellished truth still a lie,

real men says it the way it is no matter the circumstances. a lie is nothing buy a lie!!! forget embellishment. personally, i despise liars, cant even stand them.

abt who lie more in the dating game, i dont think that can be quantified cos there aint no instrument to measure. all we have to do is to mind the kind of people we roll with.

conclusively, i cant date a liar, cant even have them as friends.
