Good day everyone,

My issue is with a very close friend of mine. We live in the same compound for years. Actually, her husband and I were buddies as bachelors. He brought her in as girlfriend,they dated for two years. I was like a brother to them,although they are like 3 years older than me.
From dating,they got married and she became our iyawo. This lady is dead gorgeous and I counted my friend (Dalton,not real name) as very lucky. Iyawo is any man’s dream:sexy and a good cook. Plus her figure na die.I used to call her sister mi or iyawo.Them getting married brought me even more closer. I ate in their house most times. Their first son came and was actually 9 months old when Dalton passed on in a motor accident. All our worlds stopped. It was the most painful time of all our lives. I mean,he was a young father and husband,friend and son.
I was dating someone at the time. Later on,I traveled and was in UK for 3 years. I kept in touch with Iyawo. Sent her money now and again even though she didnt need it.I relocated back to Nigeria last year. And Iyawo looks even more stunning.I was perplexed that she was not dating yet. She was like,she is still mourning her late husband. Its been four years later. I think she should move on and get married again but she was like,no one wants a single mother with a kid.She used to tell me how lonely she gets and all that. I knew I liked her alot but we are just like family. The more I saw her,the more I wanted her. I was single. I am 36 years,she is 39. I thought about this for a long time and I told her how I felt about her.She laughed and said it would never work. According to her,I was like a junior brother to her and too close to her late husband. That people would think we were having an affair while he was alive. I see reasons with her but I think there is no excuse good enough to let her go without a fight for her heart.Please I need directive..advise…how do I convince her that all her excuses do not matter..will people actually disapprove of our union…I just want to know what chances I have or concerns that anyone may raise about this before I push further for her love. I love this woman and her son with all my heart.
If there is anyone who has been in a similar situation,please advise also thank u as u offer ur advice no insult please
