The books are better donated to libraries in universities or a state owned and maintained libraries to keep the legacy of the man, Sanusi.

Unfortunately, Ganduje isn’t interested in the illiteracy liberation of his state, which is one of the reasons he has been against SLS and dethroning him.

He was dethroned for thinking with his mouth. He is not even better educated than Ganduje. He just has or blessed with an impressionable personality coupled with a melodious voice.

Ganduje is a doctorate degree holder not honorary but earned in field that advances humanity.

I believe that with time, Sanusi will bounce back stronger and greater. He knew what he was getting into when he accepted to be the emir, and when he decided to publicly address the ills of kano state government and the northern elites (which he is also part of) despite knowing the fact that he is being paid by the same kano state government.

In the above video, and according to Abubakar Rimi, the former Kano state governor, the installment, and removal of any emir are at the hands of the governor/government.

Personally, I believe the likes of Sanusi is needed in the private/business sector, than the archaic sometimes, unproductive traditional leadership (my opinion).

That library did not belong to Sanusi. Thats the palace library and was built by British Council in Kano and stocked with books over 60yrs ago. Each Emir adds collections to it. So no surprise if Sanusi added some books to the shelves.

Sanusi was the first Emir to allow public eye to the gallery upstairs where the library is located.

What you see in the picture is restoration works. They empty the shelves and treat the woods and veneers. Its part of maintenance to sustain the frame and also keep the books in good lasting conditions.

No need for all these scams and attempts to rubbish the palace because of support for Sanusi.

The palace did not evict Sanusi therwfore dont rubbish or tarnish the image of the palace.

A lot of Nairalanders kept bashing SLS without actually knowing a thing or two about him or why he was dethroned and banished

Anyways I have time. Let me educate some of you.

I reside in Kano for more than a decade now and I must tell you why SLS isn't loved by Kano elite and Kano Government.

1.SLS angered the Kano Elites when he once emphasizes the need for mass encouragement for girl-child education.
The truth is, accepting change here is quite cumbersome

2. He criticized the Kano Government for not doing anything about the alarming poverty rate in the state

3. He also criticizes the almajiri system

4. He once tell the Kano people to build more schools than mosques because he believes any one could build a mosque to seek for Allah's blessings but building schools means building human capacity which according to him is better. If you must know, the northern politicians use religion to achieve their political agenda. They believe Mosques are cheaper to build than schools. So the politicians use the money meant for community development to build mosques while inflating the cost. And because the masses are gullible, building a mosque or Islamic schools are regarded as good and distinctive political points

5. He was the man that angered the Kano Elites when he stressed the need for one man one wife, backing his claim with the Holy Quran. This is because he saw the danger of overpopulation and poverty. But the Elites sees this as political sabotage since they need more population for their political machinations and what comes to them from federal allocations

6. The final straw that broke the camel's back was simply because he openly criticized the malpractices carried out in the last Kano election that resulted to INEC declaration of the election as inconclusive.

SLS is a man who say the truth no matter the consequence(s). Truly he is paying for being bluntly outspoken and honest.
So if you know nothing about this man or why he was dethroned, kindly shut it.

I don't know where the number came from but rest assured that the 'original' hardback copies of good books sold internationally can reach up to $100.

Rarer books could go for much more. Perharps that valuation also include the library house/furniture.

Most Nigerians may not afford to buy original 'hardback' Mc graw hill books, some of which may veer into the 40k naira range. but they exist.
