Hello guys,

We have been on lockdown for some weeks now, because of this evil pandemic ravagin' the world not just nigeria only,

My questions are:

1) If this lockdown should continue, how are schools going to open since we don't have an online system?

2) Will this not lead to a massive dropout from schools, due to poverty, insecurity and unseriousness?

3) All the parent in the house, how have you made sure your child is academically active despite not going to school?

4) Do you think this lockdown is the best and only solution?

Nigerians share your view.

Nothing will happen!....it will still be our educational system tongue

Its only the very poor. Just do home lesson by following textbook. Then when school resume, they do crash-program, and those who fail, would repeat.

They are free school or once with 1k school fees (just the standards are very low and some don't even teach in English), so everyone should downgrade accordingly (no need to keep kids at home because you can't afford school fees).

The institutions that can survive are distance learning schools e.g National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) because most things are done online.
Our institutions supposed to have online program for those who can't attend clase letures but they won't. Instead, some idiot students who can't read talk of understanding are discriminating OPEN UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATE yet we have OPEN UNIVERSITY OF CANADA, INDIA etc.
That's why this country is called ZOO

Which educational system is this nigga talking about?

Is it the educational system that has been completely bastardized by examination malpractices?

Or the educational system that has been wholly crashed by ASUU?

Online schooling is the way to go now.

Master any useful skill you can online and you are good to go.

More skills; less certificate!!!

Talking about education, everything now is in a stand still including marriages, burials etc..we shouldn't bother about education though it's the key to success, there's an adage that says when there is life..there is hope..let's just pray to stay alive and strong, better days are ahead..Corona virus won't stop anyone from being what God had ordained us to be,wether school or no school.

Lol some state Universities are trying to start online classes but I'm near sure it won't be 100% as much as they would like. Who provides the data for students. Some students don't even own a browsing phone..

Like someone mentioned "Food first b4 education."

Do people even realize ASUU went on strike before the lockdown?

Is data free? People are shouting online online as if data is free.

People never get money buy food you dey ask them for data

Coronavirus: Denmark lets young children return to school

The Danish prime minister welcomed children on their return to school in Valby on Wednesday
Children up to the age of 11 are returning to nurseries and schools across Denmark, as the government becomes the first in Europe to relax coronavirus restrictions on education.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen welcomed children as they went back to school in the capital Copenhagen.

Denmark was among the first countries in Europe to impose a lockdown, with schools closed on 12 March.

Infection rates have been low but critics warn the strategy is risky.

"We're all a bit nervous and we'll have to ensure that we stick to hygiene rules," Elisa Rimpler of the BUPL, the Danish Union of Early Childhood and Youth Educators, told the BBC.

"We have a lot of washing hands during the day. We don't have masks and we have to keep a good distance from each other so that's a very difficult task."

Denmark's move came as European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen set out a roadmap on Wednesday for a gradual lifting of restrictions across the 27-state bloc, but made clear it was not a signal to act immediately.

She set out key conditions involving a significant decrease in the spread of Covid-19, capacity in the health system, surveillance and monitoring. A donors' conference will take place online for governments and organisations to pledge money in search of a vaccine, Mrs von der Leyen added.

Other countries besides Denmark have moved to relax lockdown measures this week:

Austria reopened thousands of smaller shops on Tuesday and has said it will allow outdoor sport such as tennis, golf and athletics from 1 May
The Czech government has set out a five-stage timetable
Spain has allowed non-essential workers to go back to work after a two-week pause
Italian bookshops and clothing stores for youngsters have reopened their doors in some regions
German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss easing restrictions with the country's 16 state premiers on Wednesday, with reports that they are expected to agree to a limited reopening of shops from next Monday and a relaxation of rules on movement from 3 May.

What are you thinking, continuation of lockdown is like you're something else.

How would you even thinking of that, where many are died because of hunger virus and you're talking of school, who school help?

If you don't eat well would you be able to study or learn. Nothing buhari, wole soyinka, osinbajo can teach you that you'll understand.

When everything is set our school sector is quacks talkless everything is upsides down. abeg abeg don't even mention, think, say, to continue lockdown ah every innocent soul would become armed robbers.
