The dumb government that we have in Abuja doesn't know that this is the best time to resolve the crisis so that universities can be fully re-opened immediately after the lockdown.

ASUU leadership and government can continue with their negotiations or meetings the same way the presidential task force on covid-19 is meeting daily.

But everyone in this government is dumb and bereft of ideas just because their head (buhari) is brain-dead.

For years Nigerians have been wasting money going to school. Instead of just tackling food issues.
Europeans and Americans go to school and press computers because their government has already provided food for everyone.

They have light, internet and food.
Food was taken care of by mechanised farming right after slave trade ended 400years ago.

3) All the parent in the house, how have you made sure your child is academically active despite not going to school?

that reason of student now having phones is bull crap. Did they have texbooks when they first resumed?? 90% of teachers in Nigeria institutions are not qualified period. Online lectures would have been even cheaper and more efficient, how else do you think online courses works, with instagram and other video app it is easy as pie but these old cargos we has as teachers are the issue

1. Primary and secondary schools are not affected, as some are through with their exams. Others will resume with exams and run 3rd term from the week after. The difference is that, there will be no summer school and the long holiday replaced with perhaps, 2 or 3 weeks holiday, before a new session commences.

2. For higher institutions, what difference does it make? They were on strike already. In fact, world's compulsory holiday met them on strike. What baffles me now is that, what is the contributions of science lab scientists in Nigeria? Where are all the microbiologists in Nigeria? They and their students are on strike. Coronavirus should have been a veritable opportunity to practically teach these students. Shame on FG for destroying out educational system. This is because their students are not schooling here.

3. For the dropouts. They wished to be dropouts. This can only happen in the north. Check out all higher institutions in the south,; you will be surprised at the way people are hussling to attend part time schools. Same at primary and secondary levels.

No difference.

We need real ones to exist first, before we get to that thinking.


Any realist and honest person that knows what's up, knows that the current gathering camps that exist in the name of campuses, are riddled with bribery, sorting to pass, cultism, runs, criminality, unhealthy environments, lack of or no teaching tools, etc

Brilliant Thread OP. I think the world will come to a consensus as to when school resumes. For Nigeria, teaching students via radio or TV is not going to work as Nigeria do not have the facilities to aid these.

However, I feel a sane government and/or Ministry of Education will begin to think tirelessly on the next possible thing,

They can't think because they need ministry of power to aid them but they as well can't do anything because they have a stvpid president.
