If this country had managed to saved about $200billion dollars as a reserve during the oil boom, we would have got no cause for alarm. This famine is a pandemic time of covid 19 where your savings will help rather than borrowing.

My country now depends on our stolen money to survive. Oh God where is our right thinking leaders...I miss late Awolowo, nnamdi azikwe etc who did not witness our oil boom.

Everyone would have been praising the government if only they manage to save atleast $100billion from the oil boom, we would have been able have better parliatives measurements for citizens and good bail out for companies who are struggling to pay salary. Then we can sit at home for 5months and save everyone..oh God!!

If only we had good leaders with Wisdom and knowledge
If only we had leaders with vision and passion
If only we had leaders with good motives and lack of greediness
If only we had leaders with no corrupt intent.

May be our country will be one of the best places to live.eg UK, US,Germany.

I heard a German chancellor once said ' give me Nigeria and let's exchange and in just few years NIGERIANS WILL BE BEGGING TO COME TO NIGERIA.Lol.

GenBuhari:
We have no government right now. It has surrendered. it's power to white racists globalists.

Don't get it twisted only the NEW World Order government is in c,harge via W.H.O.

As for so called Abacha Loot, it is a bare faced lie. There is no money looted by the great General Sani Abacha.

FACT: Abacha was never convicted of looting. The concerned concept of "Abacha loot" is therefore a white racist globaliat creation and propaganda.

STATEMENT ON THE RETURN OF THE ABACHA STOLEN MILLIONS FROM THE UNITED STATES AND JERSEY

On Monday, May 4, 2020, some $311 million US Dollars - stolen from the citizens of Nigeria during the Abacha regime - were safely returned to our country from the United States.

These funds have already been allocated, and will be used in full, for vital and decades-overdue infrastructure development: The second Niger Bridge, the Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressways - creating tens of thousands of Nigerian construction jobs and local skills, which can then be useful in future projects.

Part of the funds will also be invested in the Mambilla Power Project which, when completed, will provide electricity to some three million homes - over ten million citizens - in our country.

The receipt of these stolen monies - and the hundreds of millions more that have already been returned from the United Kingdom and Switzerland - are an opportunity for the development of our nation, made far harder for those decades the country was robbed of these funds.

Indeed, previous monies returned last year from Switzerland - some $320 million US dollars - are already being used for the government’s free school feeding scheme, a stipend for millions of disadvantaged citizens, and grain grants for those in severe food hardship.

Without these funds, the fight against Covid-19 would be even tougher.

The latest return is a testament to the growing and deepening relationship between the government of Nigeria and the government of the United States.

Without the cooperation both from the UK Government, the US Executive branch and US Congress, we would not have achieved the return of these funds at all.

For years many countries deemed successive Nigerian administrations as too corrupt, too venal and too likely to squander and re-steal the stolen monies - so they did not return the funds.

Today, US, UK and other jurisdictions have found the partnership with the nation of Nigeria they can finally trust.

The Buhari Administration is committed to - and is enacting - total and zero tolerance to corruption in politics and public administration.

The days when government was seen and used by the political class as their personal ATM to empty are over.

The time of better governance and clean hands in the affairs of state is here to stay.

Lagos -Ibadan express road is the longest road in the world. It takes 50years and billions of dollars to complete.

Can you do your research properly again? If the tallest bridge is constructed with 3 years, the long spanning bridge 5years, what is a lagis- ibadan expressway doing for 50years if good governance is there.

Please update your knowledge please.

It's unfortunate the stolen money was returned in this dunce , corrupt regime.

Mark it, the rogues in this government would embezzle the money as usual. More money to Boko haram, strange allocations to Fulani herdsmen in the name of Rehab.
This is the most useless government Nigeria ever had.

It steal beats my imagination how I voted for Buhari in 2015.

The North is always a liability to Nigeria. In your breakdown, National Security is not included because that is not one of the reasons the US released the money, please, as we know money that enters National Security is unaccountable and the mode of expenditure is only known to inner caucus cabal, no part of this fund should be diverted to National Security. Every kobo spent should be accounted for.

The North should tell their Arewa brother in Chad and Boko Haram and their negotiators to keep off this money.

The devil is in the detail. Note the careful wording, stolen from... during the Abacha regime.

It does not say Abacha stole it, it simply confirms that it was stolen, yes, during Abacha's regime, yes, but not by Abacha. By steadfastly refusing to admit the crimes of Abacha, this government is giving every indication that they will embezzle this money.

Raydos:
Its a pity that this money will be embezzled again!

Instead of the government to think about City development, We should start thinking about developing atleast 3 states to a world-class standard, Let's say One from East, West and North, (Kano, Oyo and Enugu)

You see the nonsense you just typed. Do you know that this stolen money are proceeds of crude oil? This crude oil is from the Niger Delta region. In your so called suggestion, you obviously forgot about the Niger Delta region.

You are not different from the Northern politicians. Last year, $320million was returned from switzerland. The said they are using it for school feeding program and grain grants. You will only find children in schools in the North getting this food. No school in the Niger Delta has received it. The grains grant are for Northerners too.

They steal money from Niger Delta, take it abroad, it gets refunded and then they share it in the North, abandoning the region it came from.

NOTE: I am Yoruba. Assuming the Niger delta region was Oyo and osun state, do you think we will be happy if this thing was done to us?

We Nigerians are not yet tired of corrupt governments. The day we are, things will begin to change for the better.

On the other side, please help us o. It's shameful doing this but please, look beyond it. We are really starving as covid19 has really affected our business due to lockdown and our line of business (OK clothes and bags) not among essential services which is what people go after presently. God knows we have been seriously starving with my children due to no food in the house. Imagine in the family of 5. Help us your little way please no matter what it is.
