Nigerian healthcare sector is beyond horrendous!!!... It might require international intervention for things to change.

This is one of the "good" things about this pandemic... It has brought the hidden suppressed shame to light for the whole world to see!!!
God bless you

Asin enh! Watching the video, I'm just wondering if they truly are corona virus patients.... They have enough energy to talk, they don't even look sick at all.

Crazy country.

If they are not treating them well, they should go home and do self isolation.

[quote Why is the government like this, there knew Nigeria couldn't not handle it, I think they hoping to treat this like they did with Ebola, but buhari is not Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari should have listened and closed the border.
we would have been able to use this opportunity
the world is entering a great depression soon
we could have boosted our economy and it would have been really easy since the rest of the world economy is shut now

we could have produced millions of face masks and exported it
we could have produced different food items and exported it.
and many more
the world would have been dependant on us

we could have be known once again as THE GIANT OF AFRICA post=89270229]

The Truth is, most homeless People in Naija seem claiming to be positive, simply to be isolated and enjoying free daily square meals.

Like you said, how would Patients, who ordinarily ought to be begging for Ventilators to survive, are protesting with healthy Energy?!

What you have failed to understand is that Nigeria's approach to COVID-19 is different from the rest of the world. In most First world nations, assymptomatic patients and those with mild to moderate symptoms are told to self isolate at home to recover except their symptoms become worsened and in these nations there are no isolation centres as only very sick patients are managed in the normal local/regional hospitals whereas in Nigeria any COVID-19 positive patient regardless of their symptomatology status is quarantined in an isolation centre and the sick ones are provided with treatment. The reason is not farfetched! In the developed world, home arrangements and the positive citizens compliance make it much easier to control the spread as people are more likely to adhere to basic instructions. In contrast to Nigeria and some underdeveloped nations the home arrangement is deplorable, some infected patients are homeless and many are not likely to self isolate at home but might obstinately flout the rules and continue spreading the virus in their quest to quench hunger (as most of them will claim). Hence, the safest approach to our predicament considering our peculiarities is to quarantine all infected persons in isolation centres to limit the spread. This is the reason you see lots of infected assymptomatic patients protesting on these videos.

As much as many persons would want to start some shitty conspiracy theories with these videos the truth is glaring cos if our aoproach is same with UK,spain, US, Italy etc we will only be seeing sick patients who would be too sick to stage a protest. However, I advise the Govt to look into their complaints else their containment strategy will fail.

Pls stop the self denials and stay safe.

They turn everything to politics here in Nigeria.

stainchris:
Most of the times that I went to the hospital back then in the 80s, wasn't really because i was sick but i had to fake the illness so that my parents will take me to the hospital where i will see a calm, well dressed, ever smiling and gentle doctors and nurses taking really good care of me and making me feel like the world revolves around me and even if i was truly sick, getting better wouldn't take more than one or two days, even if i was not fed the whole time.
But these present days, i would rather stay home and hope that the sickness will just respect itself and vamoose from my body because going to meet those so called doctors and nurses in our so called prison-like hospitals, is just like committing suicide even if they serve you food.
Though, i wouldn't blame them much because our leaders made them so.
Lack of adequate training and medical equipments with little or no pay will surely turn them into monsters.
I just hope and pray that their governor will hear their cries and pick their calls.

@bolded....

Not leaders made it so but Nigerians made it so. Or are the leaders from space or from a European country. And were they not elected by Nigerians over and over again??

Abeg abeg. We Nigerians are the cause of our problems.
