Good day all. I know here is romance section...but this section is highly visited. Pls If you had experience with this...your suggestion is appreciated. I got a refurbished Lg v30 a few days back (impressive phone I must add) and have been having issues updating the firmware (which is currently running android 7.1.2 nougat).

Anytime I try searching for update, it keeps telling me 'Your Phone Is Not Registered Yet' and while I have tried looking for solutions on other forums like xda, androidauthority and co, responses there weren't really helpful. As far as I understood, I would need to register the device on Lg's website and since my phone's model is US998, I suspect it's a another variant. However, I've not been able to make headway with the registration of the device talk more of updating the firmware.

Suggestions on how to bypass or alternative options are welcome please. Thanks as you contribute.
