With IT skills u shud be earning more than that bro unless Ure not developing ur skill set. How much time/hours do u have to work as special assistant daily? Compare that to time demands on ur current job and see which gives u more opportunity for self development cos I think wats more important for u is self development rather than any of these 2 jobs. Once u can develop ur skills and do sm certifications u can even get a better job.

I was also in similar situation. The week I got an offer after my final exams, I got a nomination to be an SA on social media for a new task for committee set up for a certain local govt in Rivers State.

The pay was 75k but the offer I got in Lag was 40% higher. It (the LGA offer) came with accommodation, an opportunity to get lots of money illegally daily from the task force.

Every body advised me to take the govt job, but I decided to relocate and rejected the offer. The task force lasted for 6 months and it was dissolved due to internal crisis. Mind you, my friend who recommended me for the job was able to save over 800k within 4 months.

My take:
1. The offer was good but it needed to advance my career.
2. You know what's good for you, money or career.
3. I'll advixe you to go for the govt job, but be ready for uncertainties.
4. If however, you succeed in the govt job, it may open doors for new positions if you can lobby your way and play the politics.
5. But for me, I can not work for the govt, as a political appointee

If you are really goods in the IT sector i sugest you go for the job because you will get more connections and money ;remember who femi adesina is.dnt 4get dat banks can drop you anytym without notice. He makes lots of money illegally. If you know what being in a taskforce means. Those guys makes lots of money but remits less than 50%

Again ask yourself these questions..
What if the SA gets fired? Your job security is hinged on his.
What if the SA gets another appointment? Because him sef dey look him own way also.
What if the governor no come get any certificate?
What happens to you at the end of the governor's tenure?

Accept the Job. Note that two things will determine how far you go in life:
1. The books you read
2. The people you meet.

In govt house you will meet people. Try and build good relationship, get contacts, be well behaved and have a mastery of your ICT skills. You will be happy in the end

No, SA can not handle him over to another SA. Because SA is a political appointment which terminate immediately that government tenure finish. Another SA will bring his own people

The SA would hand you over to the next SA. For you to even have connection with an SA is commendable. What is microfinance bank compared to this? With your experience you can always get another microfinance job, albeit, with extra experience with the SA.

Pls, is better you stay back on your job. If the need be, you can work the SA job under contract.
Remember, the SA job is an appointment, governors use it to settle their guys. Some SA's post doesn't last up to 8 month and he is going to pay you from his own purse, with 200k salary he do receive. Pls, stay back in your job.

Go for a government house job Shap Shap . I am working with One of the Governor too. Though my salary is small but I make more than 500% of the salary sometimes . Within four years I bought a land , I will want to use this remaining 3 years God's willingto build on it and Marry

With Government house job, you have access to many opportunities which will help you find favour in your dream job easily

With no job security and it's only a slight salary increment, it's not worth risking your stable life.

I believe free accommodation will be invalid the moment you're fired, so it's not really a perk.

I will strongly recommend that you go with the above advice. State government jobs nowadays r not what you think they are. Your current place of work is more of a professional environment than the government which is more of political dealings. Continue where u r cos u will grow professionally n the experience n exposure in that financial institution will elevate you to a higher position in similar place tomorrow with the relevant papers, but government jobs mostly state or local government only prepare you to become a liar, a lazy person n a corrupt individual. I speak through experience because I have tested both the two.

Please remember that these people can owe like no tomorrow. And you don't have a defined work schedule. It's worse when you are given free accommodation. You won't understand till you live that life. I feel such will appeal to those who want to go into influence peddling or take shortcuts. If you want a career, please leave this job offer.

Hello, personally I think the only constant thing in life is change, this new job would make you know people in the short time, and trust me.. In this country, who you know matters!! Plus when it hits your CV that you worked with the SA of a state... That's a booster compared to working in a microfin

In this Life, for you to be rich. You must take risk....

With the salary you stated, you are probably at the base cadre in your career, so I don't think you will make any difference where you are going because you need to upgrade yourself before taking a risk such as you have described. A job offer that is not formalized is no job. Bear that in mind. Any perks associated with it are a mere mirage, they will melt away as soon as you are verbally pushed away.
Stay put in your current job, and use the opportunity to further upgrade yourself. If you had made a significant success of your career, you wouldn't have too many questions over this development in your life. Moving from a N40k job with some security to a job of N60k without any form of security is not wise. The so-called accommodation will ultimately make you lose your sense of personal responsibility and may turn out to be an abhorable bait should you be asked to leave the govt job without notice!

Expand your horizons.
Use your head. A moving target is hard to crack down.

Weigh your options. I wish you the best bro.
Can you save part of your income in your new job?
Can you freelance your skills locally?
Use your opportunity wisely. But again, decide for yourself.

Consistence is key in anything, if you are not employed by the state government, what it means is that, you can be fired at anytime, because even the SA could be fired at any time. And because he is the one employing you, you salary would fluctuate, on like where you work now, I am sure on a particular date, your money hits your account. It will not be so when you start working for him, he could even claim that you should give him some time. My brother a bird in hand is worth much more than 2billion in the bush.
