Vice President Osinbajo just said it the way it is. The problem here is those who are saddled with the responsibility of rejigging the Constitution are the one benefiting from the lush funds. What we need is a sincere National Debate where we can tell ourselves the bitter Truth.

Name one country Nigeria size and status with one chamber.

Name just one country where legislatures recieve the type of bogus salaries and renumerations they pay their Nigerian counterparts?

Size is different from efficiency. The military ruled this same size with provisional ruling council that consists of few officers, why can't we cut down the legislature?

This talk talk and no action is the reason why Nnamdi kanu and his followers want out of this contraption.

Exactly why that debate wil never work, the country is structured to checkmate any type of negotiation.
Only direct confrontation, (like what happened in Nuremberg last year) can work. That's the bitter truth

Or better still, split up the entity let those who love the Constitution continue to run their arewa Republic with it, we want out.

Too fucking expensive, disband the house of reps, and reduce allowances by 35%, let those who want to serve remain.

if we call for a debate who will be the panelist?still the same corrupt vultures that has plagued this nation. in movies, you see where people are being fed just to drain their blood those victims are never healthy and are always looking sickly. that is the case of Nigeria right from inception, the nation is just being sustained slightly to remain alive just to continue serving as a conduit pipe for their greed.

If you watch the interactive discussion between VP Osinbajo and HRH Sanusi Lamido, you will understand what this admin is doing, have done and what they have in plan to do. With Osinbajo's Master Plan (ESC report), there is hope and Nigerians will enjoy the dividend of democracy.

But he said the truth. Osinbajo is no doubt an asset to the country and Africa at large. No go like him.

Imagine a white man saying Nigeria should borrow them the VP for just a year, that says alot about what he stands for and who he is. Take a look at his ESC plan recommendations, any country with those recommendations will definitely bounce back and realised economic growth if adequate approvals are adhere to.

Don't you think separation is the best way to go? Have you ever thought of leadership war that will arise even within each region? My guy, I strongly believe one Nigeria will still work.

You hit nail on the head.

Mordecai:
At first, they told us we needed a Sovereign National conference.

At some point, constitutional amendment.

Then GEJ held a National Conference, after which his government courageously allowed a little progressive change in the electoral system, and as a result of that change, lost power to them.

They then ridiculed the National Conference to no end. They threw away the outcome of the conference, stated that Nigeria is okay as currently structured. That our only problem is corruption. That PDP's misrule for 16 years was our worst mistake.
They said we do not need restructuring, that State Police is unnecessary. That our Police is enough.
They defended Baba's 97%/5% policy. They made appointments dependent on what tribe's genes you carry. That merit doesn't matter when the President loves Nigeria, is well-intentioned, and is fighting corruption.
At a point, an independent legislature became the scapegoat for our national problems. Because Baba needs the support of everyone in government. Dissenting views aren't welcome.

Today, Baba owns the legislature. Yet, for some reason, these legislators are still the problem, because they won't vote themselves out of existence.

Now that it's clear that nothing is working, what do they tell us? That we need a NATIONAL DEBATE.

Back to square one. National Conference Debate.

Please, how did they convince anyone that they'll be good for Nigeria?

have you seen what ministry of petroleum resources employees make? millions!!! that's where all the loans are going. to pay salaries.
i hear nnpc is even worser!

This is false

Ministry of petroleum is the richest ministry in Nigeria followed by the FIRS

Even workers in privately owned oil companies are paid better than their counterparts in state-run oil companies in Nigeria.

I am not saying what I think - these are facts I got independently from an insider

There are lots of agencies that do not generate revenue for the government

Those could be the people the government borrows to pay

Rubbish, a country living on hope.

The country is imploding with violence, debt and incompetence rulers.

Osinbajo's Master Plan = Tinubu for the presidency.
