Regardless of the reason, the joyful thing is that a kid is getting scholarship. The other day, a boy who sang beautifully well in Igbo got a similar accolade. So this not about slavery but appreciating pure talents. Besides, frowning at other people's culture will only make yours stagnant. Even the US is known for culture appropriation.

Point is, let's just be happy for him. We can talk about colonization later.

If the child got the talent don't dictate where he or she should go. You sounded like our old parents who knew a child was talented in football or music and will be hell bent the child must be a doctor or lawyer. The boy is good! I didn't watch the video though but seeing the picture of his toe so straight on hard floor sends shivers down my spine
