The skeleton wasn't more then 10-100 000 years old but a rock shelter and stone axe factory of over 250 000 years old shows that the Igbo had older inhabitance

Source: trust me bro

but the thing is for all we know they aren't the actual ancestors of modern day people groups inhabiting those regions they could have easily migrated elsewhere and we wouldn't know

Yeah that maybe correct since iwo ẹlẹru is stated to be different from modern day yoruba, so it's an archaic human different from all modern day humans.

Why'd you add the trust me bro clause to my comment? Then proceed to agree with me? My claims are backed up by scholars and by science not by my opinion although it is possible that the middle belt could have the actual location of the oldest habitation in Nigeria seeing as multiple scholars claim it is the source of all modern day ethnic groups in Nigeria and with the Nok culture and all they could be right

Iho eleru's fossil human has always being compared with Yoruba people's ancestor and not with all shade of modern mankind.

This comparison has never yield any findings that shows connetion. Rather, the analysis on the bone showed no link with ancient Yoruba ancestors.

Zik lived in the West/Lagos but he never lived in Edo.

Zik's grandmother told him the history of Ezechima, their Benin ancestor. The same way someone whose great great great great parents migrated to America centuries back would be told the family story. I believe everyone is best placed to tell own family story.

But it won't make them authorities on other tribes, unless they spent their lives objectively and scientifically researching the subject.
a lot of historical findings did that,go through history of Africa arts and besides a whole lot of my friends from Benin answer to yoruba names like adeoye, adsewu, Omo etc

Omo means child in Benin, Adesuwa has nothing to do with "crown or Ade" as it is in Yoruba.

An ethnic Yoruboid Edo Benin person is not representative of the regular Benin person.

Please have enough understanding of Benin language and conventions before saying a name is Yoruba.

An Edo person with a Yoruba mum may have a Yoruba first name. I know Benin people whose first name was given by a Yoruba or Igbo family friend or neighbour, grandfather/mother, in-law, etc. There was once a time when people related much better irrespective of tribe or religion.

A lot of Benin and Igbo words are similar but I wouldn't say that one tribe or the other comes from the other.

Our problem is that we are still high on the fallacy that this or that tribe came from Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc.

The truth is that those Southern tribes were probably at one time together or at least very close neighbours before spreading East, West and South. Kogi/River Niger area is the most likely place where all were together. The Igbos probably migrated away first.

For example, Igbo call Benin by the oldest name: Ndi Idu. Idu is considered the progenitor of Benin people.
