Why Do Afuze And People From Owan East Bear Yoruba Names by Mraphel: 1:35pm On Aug 24, 2020
Are these people related to Yoruba? I'm kinda inquisitive here.
Have met about three people from that part of Edo and they bear Yoruba names but cannot speak it.
Anyone from Afuze or Owan east local government should shed more light

The last time I checked the real Binis have connection with the Yorubas unlike Igodomigodo like you.
The first Obas are native of Yoruba land they drove your Ogisos to the wilderness and never will they come back.
The Akoko Edos are still connected to Yoruba and Igala.
While Estako are related to Urobo.

The question I will ask you is where in igodomigodo are u from..check well is a Bini land.
Igodomigodo now extinct

Lol, funny man igodomigodo was a fairy tale name told to accompany the edo mythology on thd sky kings ogiso this were divine myth, told in the kingdom, you believing this myth makes me see reasons why you guys believe oduduwa dived from the sky with no head injuries when he landed

The title oba is indigenous, the kingdom has always called edo, and a different version of it, by is neighbors are ado, idu and so on,

Oba has always been the title, so stop lumping ogiso(sky kings) mythology into realities leave it the way it is and disgracing your education

Please bring prove to the bolded i hope you wont run as your other colleagues did

Yorubas have been trying to make our king yoruba since 1914 to get their history word wide acknowledged

We allowed yorubas kings in the 30s bear the title oba for diplomatic sake today they are hijacking the origin as theirs

Your first king was Yoruba can't u listen? Not only in Benin alone but many towns in Edo state.
Ibilo (the first king of Ibilo) was a Yoruba man from Ife too.

Ogiso was never a myths because they were ruling Igodomigodo kingdom before Obalufon asked Yoruba warriors led by Oranmiyan to evade Igodomigodo.

The word oba is not yoruba lets begin to retrace the truth

Stop calling yoruba kings oba, call them their original titlle the title oba is original benin

All this benin missups with yoruba history started few years after the benin-britsh war since we benins were badly affected by the war it took years for us to heal it took from 1897 to 1914 for benin to recover, at 1914 the kingship was restored and the new oba began making fast changes to bring benin closer to then growing country, he made some diplomatic relationships with the yoruba kings, and he even was seen learning and participating in yoruba festival to create a friendly diplomatic relationship that was the beginning of benin rewriting their history to accommodate yorubas, for ethnic and political favour, untill early 1930s, yorubas began to use the title oba as a term fir general word for kings, the benins never objected this, since the long lasting relationship has been there
Benin never objected this......

The relationship between benin and Yoruba has been a long time parasitic relationship which must end, we thought it would be a symbiotic one, but little did our kings know, the tribe of cowards had nothing to offer even with their numerous population

The myth said oromiyan was oduduwa son, you psycho came from know were to say ogun was the grandfather of oromiyan lol

That means ogun son gave birth to oromiyan and
Not oduduwa

You see why myths should not be used in telling history

That's Yoruba language barrier for you

Your grandfather will still refer to you as his son.
Oranmiyan was Oduduwa's great grandsons
No Yoruba will ever say Oduduwa birthed Oranmiyan Oduduwa was Oramiyan's great grandfather.
Ogun's son gave birth to Oranmiyan that's correct.

The account that says Oronmiyan was Oduduwa's direct son is mostly from Edo and Igodomigodo not South west

False.

Titles is different from the word king

You can have titles and not be a king. What qualifies you to be King is Oba.

Benin adopted Oba through Ife Prince that faught off Ogisos off.
Also he renamed the city.
Ife people were the Early king makers. It was Ooni of Ife that funded prince Oronmiyan with Yoruba soldiers to defeat the Igodomigodo soldiers.

Check any Yoruba kings Oba must be in the name.

New Oba in Benin must fight a mock war with the Ogisos of Benin and conquer.
One of Antecedents set by the first Oba. Part of d evidence that proved Ogisos were really defeated.

What if i tell you that war wasnt related to ife and was completely indigenous with prove from a European docunent who took the original history before the creation of nigeria

The new version of the history was the one that accommodated ife and the nonsense .....

Dont worry i have the screenshot in my gallery when i bump into it i will attach it

But let me brief you what was written in the original contest recorded by the European

Ekalderhan who was a prince was banished to east of benin were he founded ughoton and later came back and waged war with ogiemen, which they came up in a truce after the war.....

Eweka, neither oromiyan was mentioned in the European contest do you know is the benin people that ultered the history to accomidatw ife to gain supiority with the Ekaladerhan tales over the ife narrative of supiority , i wouldn't want to explain this further

You're sleeping... My friend wake up.....

Instead of arguing go and do further research

Let me school you further the original benin-ife myth told never contained oromiyan or oyo in it ,
Oyo was later brought into the myth much later to balance the supiority battle between alafin and ooni.....
To make it ooni first, oyo second, benin third in hierarchy

Stop talking in myth....

Who are the ancestors you used as slaves? Yoruba from Benin ruled Yoruba in Lagos..go and check their names.
You like claiming what you're not.
Benin was once Yoruba land after Igodomigodo, una use Nigeria to gain independence.

I'm unconcerned about the hierarchy but a foreigner cannot successfully rule people that you don't understand their language, tradition and culture

A visitor cannot become king of a whole kingdom overnight.

Also Oduduwa was not the direct father of Oranmiyan

There's no myth here my brother based on my own research.
Oranmiyan started the war right from Oba-ile (near Akure) and won towns and territories upto Benin. He was a warrior not a cool headed legend like Benin narratives depicts him.
He used Yoruba soldiers allotted to him by king Obalufon to win the war.(it was Ife vs Igodomigodo).

Ogiemen had Ogiso kings he defeated and their remnants still exists in Edo till today.

The original Igodomigodo knew Oba were foreign and tenant in Benin.
