SHIRK (Associating Others With Allah SWT)

The greatest of all major sins in Islam is Associating Partners with Allah (SWT).
Shirk is of two kinds:
1. To make someone equal to Allah or to worship something or someone else, such as stone, tree, the sun, the moon, a prophet, a saint etc. This is surely the greatest Shirk.
Allah (SWT) says:
[4:48]
"Surely, Allah does not forgive setting up of partners with Him, and He forgives (any other sin) lesser in degree for whom He wills. And whoever sets up partners with Allah certainly fabricates a horrible sin."
[31:13]
"And (recall) when Luqman said to his son as he was advising him: ‘O my son, do not set up partners with Allah. Verily, associating partners with Allah is a very grave injustice.’"
[5:75]
"The Messiah, the son of Maryam (Mary), is (nothing) but a Messenger (neither a god nor a son of God nor His partner). Many Messengers have indeed preceded him, and his mother was a paragon of truth (a saintly person). Both (were mortal creatures as they) used to eat food. (O Beloved!) Observe how clearly We explain the Revelations for their (guidance), but again observe how (in spite of that) they are turning away (from the truth)!"
There are numerous verses in the Qur'an warning against associating others with Allah (SWT).

Hence, if one ascribes partners to Allah and dies a polytheist, he will definitely be an inhabitant of the fire.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) asked his companions: Shall i not inform you about the three greatest sins? They said: Yes, Messenger of Allah. Then he said: Associating others with Allah and disobedience to parents... And deliberate perjury and giving false evidence...

2. Hypocrisy in one's deeds. Allah (SWT) says:
[18:110]
" ...So, whoever hopes to meet his Lord should do good deeds, and must not associate any partner in the worship of his Lord.’"
The meaning is that one should not act for the sake of ostentation but should sincerely act for the sake of Allah alone.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: I warn you against the lesser polytheism. His companions asked him: And what is the lesser polytheism, Messenger of Allah? He replied: It is showing off. On the Day when Allah will reward people for their deeds, he will say to them: Go to those to whom you showed off your deeds on earth for praise and see if they will reward you.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) again said: There might be one who fasts and gained nothing of his fasting but hunger and thirst, and there might be one who prays to God all night and gains nothing of his prayers but wakefulness.

Allah SWT says:
[25:23]
"And (then) We shall turn to the deeds they (presumably) did (in life) and shall make them scattered dust particles."
This means that the deeds they had done for the sake of anything or anyone other than Allah will receive no reward and will be exactly like the scattered dust that can be seen floating with the beams of sunlight.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) was reported to have said:
On the Day of Judgement, groups Therefore ate to be led towards the Garden till they get too close to it, smell it fragrance, look at its palaces and at what God has prepared for its inhabitants. Then a call will be made to turn them away from it, since they have no portion in it, and they will turn away with so great sorrow and regret that neither those before them nor those after them ever turned away with. They will say:
Our Lord! If you had admitted us to the fire before showing us what we have seen of the reward you have prepared for your followers, it would have been easier for us. Then Allah SWT will say:
That is Exactly what I intend for you. You used to commit great sins against My will in privacy, but when you were among people you were humble toward them, showing them your good deeds, quite opposite to what you gave to Me in your hearts. You feared people and did not fear Me. You venerated people and did not venerate Me. Your renunciation was for people but not for Me. Therefore, today I make you taste My grievous punishment besides withholding, My abundant reward from you.

A man asked Allah's Messenger SAW: What is salvation? He replied:
Do not decieve Allah. The man asked: How can one deceive Allah? The Prophet replied:
Through doing a deed bidden by Allah and His Messenger, but intended for the sake of someone other than Allah SWT. Guard yourself against showing off, because that is a form of lesser polytheism.

On the Day of Judgement, the hypocrite will be called, above the heads of people, by four names: Hypocrite! Deceitful One! Faithless One! Loser! Your deeds are wasted, and your reward is cancelled. Since we do not have any reward for you, go and collect your reward from the one for whose sake you did your deeds, impostor.

Al- Fudail bin Ayyad said:
To refrain from doing something for the sake of people is hypocrisy and to do something for their approval is polytheism, whereas sincerity lies in God's protection against both. O Allah! Protect us from these two and forgive us!

Islam never fails, you in particular failed to observe the point you are trying to make but stick to a section that incompletely described your point.

what you are trying to establish your point with is "Allahumma Salli ala sayyidina Muhammad, wa ala ali Muhammad wasallim..."

Surah Al-Ahzab ( Quran 33:36)

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
