What has Chevron upstream business got to with Dangote's downstream business. Chevron does not operate downstream in Naija.

I will give you an advise, which I don't do often do in the faceless forum, it is voluntary so you have every right not to accept it. Always try as much as possible to stick to facts, let's your person be know for truth and nothing but the truth.

Ciao

Dangote refinery is for the downstream while chevron and other IOCs operate mainly in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry

Chevron is not sacking anyone per say, they only want to restructure the company's policy.

Those removed will have to reapply and then renew a different contracts which will cut down their formal pay. Those who disagree will be paid off with huge amount of money. So no go reason say na that kine sack weh dey for your pure water factory weh U dey work.

Now I understand why a friend of mine who is a diver working for chevron is planning of traveling out. Buhari has finally finished us! The only multinational oil company we have working is about to take off. As a young man, if you have not started making plans to travel out, I don’t know what else is your aim in life.

Dangote and Chevron are not in competition

Chevron is an upstream major while Dangote operates in downtown (what some scholars call midstream)

There's much more money in upstream than downstream.

25 percent is much o shocked angry sad

That's about 600 workers about to be jobless

Upstream oil workers are among the most privileged Nigerians.

Some of them who have sense must have had some savings. So, they are definitely big boys.

It's only those who don't understand the importance of saving that will go broke.

By and large, they should be able to set up a business or return to another oil company with their rich portfolio and connection

High blood pressure and death follows. It is crazy o. Imagine a blue badge losing his job especially those who were just enjoying and didn't bother saving seriously or taking loans from Chevron cooperative to start businesses or build property.

Even a person that loses N300k job with no backup is in trouble.
