Dont be a simpleton, the money is not used by ASUU. It's the same federal govt that handles it.

They refused to register on IPPIS that's why their salaries where withheld...

What about the unpaid allowances?

This is a democratic system, you cant just wake up one day and decide to pay people with a payment system that reduces their monthly earning and expect them to accept it.
The so called IPPIS is good but it does not capture ASUU 2009 agreement with the federal government leading to reduction in salaries of their members.

I am not in support of the action of both of them!

Even when u look at it in a saner sense ASUU is depriving us of our rights when compared to FG (who are not left out). Can't they think of other means to channel their grievances as intellectuals?

why wouldn't you support anyone
if you can't
keep quiet and stop playing safe or rather display of ignorance over issues u don't ve knowledge.

If you're a student and u feel dey are depriving of your right go nd channel grievances to govt.

Is this a disadvantage or beauty of democracy for university students?

Like i said before, I support ASUU 100%.
FG has a track record of not fulfilling their promises.

For those asking ASUU about "the money that was given to them in the past". You all should know that ASUU doesn't handle any money directly. If FG disburse any money to universites, the university management (Governing council, VC and others) appointed by the same FG will be in charge.
Everywhere you see TETFUND( your lecture theater, seats, lab equipments etal) was one of the struggles of ASUU.

For those shouting " value of education for their school fees". I want you to know that what you are paying is "service charge", your tuition is being paid by FG(so they said undecided).
So if you want real value in education, hold FG!!! They know what to do but will NEVER do it after all, their children are all in the UK,US and Europe. It's left for us to force them into doing the needful. If not, we will continue to graduate mediocres that are not employable or productive. NEVER!!! lipsrsealed

in conclusion, ASUU is not the enemy. They are victims of what other nigerians are suffering, which is BAD GOVERMENT!!
FG is the enemy!! Do not be deceived!

ASUU wants their earned allowances to be paid(do you want them to work for free?? Are our NASS working for free)!
ASUU wants their salaries paid in FULL taking note of their peculiarities!
ASUU wants our universites to be on par with other universities in Africa before we start talking of the world grin!
ASUU wants our graduates to be EMPLOYABLE!!

Unfortunately for we students, strike is the only way ASUU can get FG attention cry. ASUU is a union of intellectuals, before they went on strike, they have communicated their pains to FG in a gentleman's way. but it seems FG only listens when they go on strike
