The first week of the protest was wonderful...and it yielded results. Within one week, the Government disbanded SARS. But people continued the protests, and more or less turned it to a jamboree. You don't gather thousands of people together daily, with no clear agenda and not expect chaos eventually.

Why didn't the government wait for the chaos to develop naturally? Why did we observe the importation of thugs?

And you announced that you've disbanded a unit, then on the way back to their houses the same unit were seen harassing and arresting protesters. What would you make of that?

You should not expect anything else from people so used to suffering and smiling. Even when you show them a good thing, they will say no because they don't know what is good.

Finally, it'll be very hard to propel change because some people, if not majority are already under the Stockholm syndrome.

Absolutely disheartening.
That's why our politicians will keep promising Good roads, water supply, power, etc in the next 20+ years

The fourth time in less than five years. When did the Nigerian government suddenly become a trustworthy entity?

Lekki is a delicate community. Everything about that Lekki protest is wrong. The most appalling thing about that protest is the lack of leaders. How did they want to negotiate with the government?? How would they have ended the protest self?? Stupid children!

With all the leaders ASUU, NLC, TUC, NUPENG etc., had/have, what are the results from such "leaderful" campaigns? Wetin ordinary Nigerians gain from their protests and strikes?

All of a sudden, the Nigerian government becomes a trustworthy entity. Well, I have always stated it, Nigerians deserve the government they get. No pity!

I feel for the business owners. I also hope she and her husband can see the hearts of real Nigerians not the ones that sit with cooler for election at VGC or the ones that know road to private university. She is lucky her Godmothers and fathers will open account for her to rebuild. That is not the case for many.

This country has different levels of messed up. Even when you struggle and build one scatter person will come to destabilise you.

Don't you get it? The police deliberately did not show. The Police, the good and bad, were made the scapegoat of the entire nation and the target of lynching with most Nigerians cheering on their attackers.

Well, ordinary Nigerians have been made scapegoats ever since. A unit of the NPF - F-SARS - is the culprit here not ordinary Nigerians who are sick and tired of a demonic security outfit.

Their oga's then told them they must not shoot at or physically suppress any protestors.

Question is: must they shoot live bullets? It is like you folks who support SARS should be made to go through what ordinary Nigerians face from those people. Or maybe you are one of them.

The Police are not fools. They knew the protests had already been hijacked by gun, axe and machete weilding thugs and hardcore criminals as far back as days before the Lekki tollgate episode. Suicide to therefore go against such without being able to fight fire with fire.

Yeah, by Nigerian politicians who sponsored them to be driven in SUVs in the nation's capital.

When the people that claimed they were ready for leadership dropped the ball in such a monumental way that weeks later the whole country is still burning.

The same energy used to promote the protest online should be used to show the effects of damage by everyday Nigerians -not Lekki elite doing carnival and toasting girls like they’re still at unilag - when you call for revolution without understanding the heart of the people you’re seeking to lead.

There was no need for things to go this bad. The organisers were not just arrogant but exceedingly stupid with it. This is the result. They better reach out to their international audience to raise money to help people rebuild. And do less to paint our country as demons even if we are. THAT IS LEADERSHIP now rebuild what has been damaged. As if this was the first generation to do

When you people were copying black lives matter in the USA land of freedom and civilisation according to you people: did you note the number of civilians murdered at the protests by the authorities? If US is “civilised” and their armed police and people murdered protesters what did you think would happen in “jungle” Nigeria?

Did you bother to study the history of protests? Did you see how the effects ended up affecting the everyday Nigerians you claimed to have been protesting for? Or where you more concerned with posing for Instagram and getting likes on Twitter to realise that you hadn’t bothered even acknowledging the people you claimed you were standing up for.

Go and start your protest in your family. Tell your fathers to stop cheating on your mothers with your friends. Tell your mothers to stop bad mouthing people they think they are better than.

You go and build something of your own so next time somebody says revolution, you will start asking them questions. Like what is the plan aside from making noise online embarrassing our country and setting the streets alight with no way of rebuilding?

We've neglected the poor for too long. We see them every day on our way to work, church, parties, and clubs. We are all paying the price of silence. I've always said it, when the poor revolt, the people wey no buy go pay.
Let's go back to our ways, let's continue building gigantic Church structures, let's continue riding Lambo on roads battered with potholes, let's order more Champaign. But Guys, don't forget to raise the height of your fences, buy more bulletproof cars, increase your security details cos the next rage will be more brutal if we don't change collectively as a people.

You guys can be pathetic honestly.
I wish they didn’t even support the fight against brutality since it mostly affects men. You guys can very well kill yourselves . you will still be the ones to complain that feminists don’t care about men bla bla bla. Where on earth did they say people should go out and destroy private private property? Y’alls hate for women will be your undoing.

It was actually the moment ipob joined that everything went haywire. They were the ones that conjured most of the fake news about Lekki massacre which led way to the violence by hoodlums

Why does the average poor Nigerian have against a privately rich Nigerian?

Not anger against the Govt that made you poor: Not anger against the parents that probably did not plan well: Not anger against the headmaster that syphoned the learning aids.

Anger against innocent rich Nigerians who have defied all odds and climbed out of the pit.

Why?

Was Karl max a Nigerian. All history of society are history of class struggles.

Am just saying rich people did not properly articulate the meaning of revolution. That it cut across all the sec or point of institutional intersections.
