I don’t think it is HATE or it doesn’t start off as HATE. I think it is more of uncontrolled envy/jealousy- uncontrolled because it can easily turn into HATRED. Humans will typically be aggrieved and angered by what they want and somehow do not have. It's not so much envy as an error of generalisation. The lower economic class have learnt over six decades of experience that the 'big man' is usually a government official/politician or his brother, cousin or nephew, leveraging on kinship ties to corner almost all available opportunities in the environment for themselves alone.

I think It's important that i add this little information, that what people call "privately rich Nigerian" isn't rich at all, they haven't climbed out of the pit yet. They are middle class families who have struggled and currently still struggling just to stay afloat.
