I suspend sub once their school resumes, it affects me too cos I don't get to watch news and all, but I'm ready to sacrifice for their future. Yes, he cries, but I know he won't die. My two children have their own Tv in their room different from the main Tv in the palour but still under control. learn to stand your ground as a Father before that child grow wings.

kids love cartoons but always make sure you switch channel so as to not make them feel entitled,and try to blend the programs he watches it must not necessarily be cartoon and when it is cartoon it must not necessarily be pjmasks,and try to make sure he knows when its time to off the TV,and most especially do not forget to blend scolding and caning as he is in an early stage

And try to minimize general TV time
Also cartoons are good for kids as it helps there English

There, should be limitation to what we do in life, adults and children. If you cannot instill disciplines in a kid of 3 yrs. Then, I think, there is problem somewhere.

the rule in my house is, you are only permitted to watch cartoon on public holidays and weekends during school time and as much as you like during holiday but on one condition:
1. your classwork for the week should be excellent
2. we must approve if we are home. nobi say we love watching tv but in case we have a program to watch there.

same goes with the friends they make. Their friends choice is theirs but we must know.

Discipline is discipline. Do not allow a child unnecessary want supersede yours lest they grow up thinking you must do anything for them once they force stubborn.

My 3 year old son loves cartoon especially PJ Mask so much to the extend he could watch it from 7pm to 3a.m in the morning

If you take him to the bed room he won't sleep, he cries and if not this cartoon no body watches any other program anymore.

He use to be very very intelligent before now, its seem this PJ Mask has entered his head.

Please help me, how can I stop him or distract him from this??

Do not stop the subscription. Children should not determine the rules in the house. that is a recipe for disaster. IWhen it is time for bed, I change the channel to CNN or BBC and keep the remote for safekeeping. Within 5 minutes, trust me he falls asleep. I will not change the rules for my child. Na wisdom be everything.

Please subscribe and activate parental control on those cartoon channels. Once he sees that the stations are not showing he will divert his attention to something else.

The don't subscribe for many months. Other things will take over his interests

this made me remembered when I was still young.

My children watch cartoon as well but as soon as they hear my voice, they will change it to TVC news with speed. Discipline your child abeg madam

Don't subscribe for two months, it will reposition his interest when it's finally up again. From there, you can create and enforce new rules.

I don't allow my kids to watch while preparing for school in the morning, infact nobody will put it on.

Then I don't allow them watch it during homework time

By 9pm, they must be in bed lights out.

Note that it was a war enforcing this pattern before I declined to subscribe.

Be strong dear. TV is the best nanny ever, but be strong about this.

During my time as a child, na window i dey fly to watch cartoons with my siblings as popsy dey lock door. That was the days of Voltron and Super Ted.

These days, na my pikin dey dictate who go watch TV. It's either PJ Masks or Bluey.
I don't need to stop the subscription. Thanks to NEPA for doing their job.

My brother don't be too soft on your kid. My 2years + kid too loves PJ Mask and can watch it overnight if allowed. In my home, I have a Desktop computer and kid tablet where I put all her favorite cartoons. We put either one ON when we are watching programs on TV and I ensure I put them off latest 9pm and force her to sleep.

Initially, it was difficult as she would cry her eyes out to blackmail us into letting her continue but I won't budge. My rule is no TV or computer or tablet after 9pm for her and she's gotten used to it. She no longer cry when it's time. She would even say dad time to sleep.

Buy him a laptop and let him learn how to code cartoons, better , if he could stay awake for it then that's done determination that should be channeled to something useful
