what do you mean by "you are a christian" I am not talking about filling a form and checking the "Christianity" box!
Jesus laid. down what would qualify you to be a christian.. he said "why call ye me Lord and do not those things which I say?" he also said "if you love me you would keep my commandments". Jesus clearly said "verily verily I say unto you: you must be born again!" that's what qualifies you to call yourself a Christian. the Bible also says "forsake not the assembly of the children of God". like I said, you don't have to trust "naija pastors" to attend church.. you are going to meet Jesus, not the pastor

YOU ARE WRONG! In his letter to the Hebrew Christians, Paul instead urged the Hebrew Christians to not to abandon/forsake the old gathering of their Hebrew kin( the brethren- fellow Israelites many of whom still held on to the Old Covenant way, denying Jesus Christ) in their assembly halls/synagogues. Of course he was not urging them to go back to worshipping God according to the old covenant ways( I.e. making annual sacrifices, offerings, tithes, vows, giving first fruits, following cleanliness rules etc.)

It was tradition of sorts for Hebrew families to gather together to share stories and news. That is part reason why the synagogues where originally built... God commanded that His people visit the temple in Jerusalm to worship Him and that is what they did at least once a year and by worship, He did not mean any of the rituals that are practised in your churches today. Anyways, because the Temple was far from many of the people, assembly halls were built where members of a family/community would gather to exchange information of importance until the time to go to the temple to worship God came around. Eventually, Rabbis and Teachers began showing up to teach in these assembly halls aka synagogues.

As Jesus Christ warned, false prophets and Teachers instead put their own spin on what paul said, and have since built for themselves kingdoms here on earth by fleecing His flock.

As for the New Covenant, Jesus Christ never instructed His followers to gather in the way that the descendants of Israel gathered in the Old. Paul was simply speaking to descendants of Israel that they could still gather with their brethren, except they could no longer, partake of the old covenant laws.

Now Jesus Christ made it clear that He was against false teachers and false prophets. Jesus Christ does not lie.

If it teaches the doctrines and traditions of men, it is a false teacher/prophet. undecided

If it teaches the Old covenant, and not the New Covenant, as Jesus Christ's teaching, it is a false prophet. undecided

If it installs itself in position of authority over others who belong to Jesus Christ, it is a false prophet. undecided

If it installs itself as teacher and shepherd over Jesus Christ's own sheep, it is a false prophet/teacher.

If upon examining its fruits, you realize that they are more Antichrist(even his very teachings) than they are for the Truth as taught by Jesus Christ.. It is a false prophet/Teacher

If it preaches that which is not the Gospels of the Kingdom of God, in the name of God(i.e. 5G, Covid-19, politics, hybrid men, etc.), it is definitely a false teacher/prophet.

If it enriches itself and it's kingdom on the backs of Jesus Christ's own flock, it is most definitely a false teacher /prophet....

Basically, if it goes against any of Jesus Christ's own commandments, it is not of Jesus Christ.

How many of your pastors out there do not fit under this banner... tongue

your post is heretical and a wrong interpretation of scripture. totally at Cross purposes with the bible. you are saying that it is unscriptural for christians to gather to worship God under church leaders? the Bible says God appointed some PASTORS, evangelists, prophets, teachers etc. Go read your Bible well please! Paul established churches in different locations and these churches had local pastors. most of the books of Paul were written to these churches. so everyone should do as they will and there shouldn't be shepherds for the flock of Christ? go read the book of Acts where the followers of Christ gathered to pray and lived communally under Peter and James (the brother of Jesus born of Mary and Joseph). Even Jesus told Peter to "feed His sheep" in the book of John after He resurrected. this means lead them, teach them, guide them, protect them. lastly in the book of revelation, Jesus instructed John to write letters to the "angels" of the 7 churches. Bible scholars are unanimous that these "angels" are pastors of the churches. angel means Messengers and pastors are Messengers. Christ couldn't have asked Paul to write letters to angels in heaven!
Furthermore, reference to "the lord's day" in the new testament means the first day of the week (Sunday) that Christ resurrected and on which worship in assemblies were held.

Forgive me but I don't believe the Bible needs any interpreting. In that books are human thoughts from human minds written plainly in human language, to be comprehended as you would any human language.

Here's a simple exercise for you. On that morning, Jesus Christ brought bread, made a fire and after His disciples had brought in some of the fish they had caught that morning, He made breakfast and fed them all. Right after breakfast, He then said to Peter,"....Feed my sheep!". So now, using that brain that God Almighty gave you, what do you think Jesus Christ really meant when He told a fisherman, right after feeding him, "If you love me....feed my sheep"?

The Bible never told you that God appointed your pastors and prophets in His New Covenant. Jesus Christ never gave you your pastors and prophets. You found those in Paul's letter and Paul is not God, not was he Jesus Christ, the Lawgiver. Paul's words do not in anyway replace the commandment of Jesus Christ.

God in His new Covenant installed Himself as the one and only Teacher, counselor, guide, Father, Lord/Master, Helper, Comforter over all those who are born of His Spirit - Everyone who is born of the Spirit of God is by default a messenger of God..a part of Jesus Christ's own body to be used in carrying out the Will of God in all-wise - none greater than the other.
God said no longer will a man's neighbour teach him about God...God Himself will do that job. So, what did Jesus Christ send His disciples out to do? It was for them to teach people of the New Covenant(the details of the covenant, the promise of the kingdom of Heaven and eternal life) that is the new agreement between God and man.

But in the of Paul, what do many of those who claim to be called pastors/prophets according to the teachings of Paul(again, not the teachings of Jesus Christ)? They teach everything but the very thing that Jesus Christ called His followers to preach.

Now Jesus Christ made it clear that He was against false teachers and false prophets. Jesus Christ does not lie.

If it teaches the doctrines and traditions of men, it is a false teacher/prophet. undecided
