cool They were already FISHERS OF MEN. And only SHEPHERDS FEED SHEEP.
Wrong! Shepherds do not in fact feed their sheep... Instead shepherds pasture or graze them - lead them to where the sheep can in turn feed themselves.

graze1
/ɡrāz/
1. (of cattle, sheep, etc.) eat grass in a field.
"cattle graze on the open meadows"

2. (of an animal) feed on (grass or land covered by grass).
"llamas graze the tufts of grass"
3. put (cattle, sheep, etc.) to feed on land covered by grass.
"shepherds who grazed animals on common land"

Jesus Christ was well aware He was speaking to Fishermen and not to people who were trained in the way of Sheep Herders.
Jesus Christ was also aware that His followers understood that He and He alone was the Good Shepherd to His sheep( all other wannabe shepherds are bad to His flock). That is why, He, the good shepherd, right after feeding His flock( prepared and fed them in a way much different than is seen of shepherds), commanded Peter to do the same to their fellow sheep. The same command Jesus Christ gave Peter in John 21 is the very same Jesus Christ gives His entire flock in Matthew 25 vs 31-40 - all those who intend to enter His Kingdom have to heed the very same instructions.

If Jesus Christ wanted them to shepherd His Sheep, He would have indeed said so since He was addressing them directly at this point in their journey. But instead we see Jesus Christ instructing them instead to " feed His sheep...Take care of His sheep", the metaphor in all that being the word sheep which the disciples clearly understood to mean His followers.( read John 5, 8 and 10 if you are lost).

We know scamdemic sorry pandemic COVID 19 exists but 85% of Nigerians' claimed COVID 19 are fake especially in Lagos State.
You are talking nonsense. I am a victim in Lagos state. For your information, the real figure in Lagos or other states are even more than declared became they from isolation unit don't even want to come and pick you until your situation gets worse. They will tell you to self isolate at home, tell you how to take of yourselves and tell you to call for immediate pick up if the situation get out of control. This is when they now record your figure after testing. Many people get heal during this isolation without need to call for pick up.

The only men of God I trust are those in the Bible and the early missionaries that came to Africa. Those that litter everywhere today are opportunists who want to live big without necessarily working
You trust the early missionaries that came to Africa, why? undecided

When you say you "trust" men of God (those mentioned in the Bible included), do you do so with the understanding that God Himself set a curse on anyone who puts his trust(even an ounce of it, I would presume) in man or makes flesh and blood(man) his strength ? undecided

clearly you are not knowledgeable in the word of God. and the motive for your blissful ignorance is just to seek justification to lead a life in which you get to decide what is right by twisting the word of God.
you discountenance the teaching of apostle Paul and all other disciples and apostles who had direct contact with Christ and died for him (with the exception of apostle John who died a natural death) and you call yourself a christian? you are a pseudo christian. that's the plain truth. how on Earth can anyone say that Christ instructed Peter to feed his sheep with fish so they were starving before? so Peter had the capacity to feed all the disciples of Christ in Ephesus Corinth Rome etc how absurd can you be the metaphor of the word of God as food is replete in the bible. man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God; Jesus is the word of God who is also the bread come down from heaven; Jesus said my meat is to do the will of God the Father who sent him; Christ said his disciples then did not have the capacity to understand the complex part of his teachings which he called "meat"! Paul spoke about the milk of the word which means the basic simple doctrine and meat of the word which means the advanced more complex doctrines.. even in the old testament Ezekiel was given a spiritual scroll of God's prophecies to eat. same for John in the book of revelation.
anyway your motive is simply to live a licentious life by twisting the scripture like Satan did with Eve and tried to with Jesus.. You are clearly not born again and therefore not a christian. plain truth. would to God that you would humble yourself and truly become born again.. Jesus said whoever shall come after me let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.

Kobojunkie:
Forgive me but I don't believe the Bible needs any interpreting. In that books are human thoughts from human minds written plainly in human language, to be comprehended as you would any human language.

Here's a simple exercise for you. On that morning, Jesus Christ brought bread, made a fire and after His disciples had brought in some of the fish they had caught that morning, He made breakfast and fed them all. Right after breakfast, He then said to Peter,"....Feed my sheep!". So now, using that brain that God Almighty gave you, what do you think Jesus Christ really meant when He told a fisherman, right after feeding him, "If you love me....feed my sheep"?

The Bible never told you that God appointed your pastors and prophets in His New Covenant. Jesus Christ never gave you your pastors and prophets. You found those in Paul's letter and Paul is not God, not was he Jesus Christ, the Lawgiver. Paul's words do not in anyway replace the commandment of Jesus Christ.

God in His new Covenant installed Himself as the one and only Teacher, counselor, guide, Father, Lord/Master, Helper, Comforter over all those who are born of His Spirit - Everyone who is born of the Spirit of God is by default a messenger of God..a part of Jesus Christ's own body to be used in carrying out the Will of God in all-wise - none greater than the other.
God said no longer will a man's neighbour teach him about God...God Himself will do that job. So, what did Jesus Christ send His disciples out to do? It was for them to teach people of the New Covenant(the details of the covenant, the promise of the kingdom of Heaven and eternal life) that is the new agreement between God and man.

But in the of Paul, what do many of those who claim to be called pastors/prophets according to the teachings of Paul(again, not the teachings of Jesus Christ)? They teach everything but the very thing that Jesus Christ called His followers to preach.

Now Jesus Christ made it clear that He was against false teachers and false prophets. Jesus Christ does not lie.

If it teaches the doctrines and traditions of men, it is a false teacher/prophet. undecided

If it teaches the Old covenant, and not the New Covenant, as Jesus Christ's teaching, it is a false prophet. undecided

If it installs itself in position of authority over others who belong to Jesus Christ, it is a false prophet. undecided

If it installs itself as teacher and shepherd over Jesus Christ's own sheep, it is a false prophet/teacher.

If upon examining its fruits, you realize that they are more Antichrist(even his very teachings) than they are for the Truth as taught by Jesus Christ.. It is a false prophet/Teacher

If it preaches that which is not the Gospels of the Kingdom of God, in the name of God(i.e. 5G, Covid-19, politics, hybrid men, etc.), it is definitely a false teacher/prophet.

If it enriches itself and it's kingdom on the backs of Jesus Christ's own flock, it is most definitely a false teacher /prophet....

Basically, if it goes against any of Jesus Christ's own commandments, it is not of Jesus Christ. So how many of your pastors today can you say is truly of Jesus Christ?

Stop imbibing the lies of men... Let God teach you about Himself instead

For about six months after I became born again in 2007, God healed me completely from every sickness and since then I havent spent N1 in any hospital till date.

If u have the raw healing fire in you, you will hate all these fearful messages that the hospitals and jounos are trying to pass on covid19

I understand Oyedepo very well and his stance on this, coz his major calling is on faith.
Am on same page with him, even thou I don't attend his church.

However, I don't support him some unnecessary statement he's making towards the government.

If God expose himself to you, you will know that God is real.
When Jesus Christ promised His disciples that they would suffer greatly( He never promised them that there would be no pain or sickness), was Jesus Christ deceived since you here claim to have some kind of "raw healing fire" that Jesus Christ did not see fit to tell His followers would keep them from all pain and sickness ? undecided

When Paul was beaten to a pulp, and became sick as a result, needing to be cared for by other followers, what was he, a non-follower of Jesus Christ at that point? undecided

.Since my guess is you ar more familiar with Old Testament stories, so take a look at Elisha, the prophet who apprenticed with Elisha and saw him in to heaven, died as a result and a sickness. Did God abandon Elisha to cause his illness? undecided
God did not leave Elisha before his death snd the anointing that was on hima throughout his life as prophet was on him till his death. undecided

Beware of the doctrines of men which are lies designed to deceive those who believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ never said He came that you will never be sick or experience pain...He gave His followers power over such things but the same told them to expect great suffering... undecided
I don't know what "raw healing power" you claim to have inside of you, just remember to test the spirits.

When last did you read the Holy Bible? Go back and read before you run around spitting gibberish and repulsive ignorance. sad sad
Jesus Christ Himself warned His followers against setting themselves up as authorities or leaders over those who belong to Him. He commanded that none of His own set themselves up as Teachers or fathers over those of His flock.
So ask yourself this, would the same Jesus Christ, contradict His own teaching by setting over His flock, your pastors and prophets as you like to claim? undecided
Of course if you think Jesus a liar, and you believe God's Word is indeed not the Truth that He claims, you will continue to condemn Christ for your pastors.

Let him go and settle that with Mr Oyedepo and Mr Oiyakilome after all it's the same Holy Ghost that's inspiring them. So it's advisable they conclude with Mr Holy Ghost before coming to cause confusion for the people! cheesy

G.O has many sons. I am proud to associate with him. I missed the manna water! its a blessed gathering.. I am MFM. My point is that the G.O is speaking as a SCIENTIST, at a time, we SERIOUSLY need him to speak as a PROPHET. I am not denying the existence of sickness, disease and death. Sickness is not new, the G.O has prayed for people with worse cases than COVID with deliverance resulting. sickness is not new. What is new, is that the pandemic aspect of a sickness-COVID has become globally politicized! There is no pandemic anywhere, what subsist is EUGENICS, targeted at reducing world population and first step towards NEW WORLD ORDER. This sickness has been weaponized. Dont worry so much about the virus-whos recovery rate is above 80%-rather, worry about those behind it, who has the effrontery to lockdown churches.
