22brains, sadly it is a medical condition. I watched a documentary yesterday on this family with the condition. I didn't know there were people living with the condition in Nigeria, it must be very tough for him.


It is a hereditary condition. He could pass down if he chose to birth children.


I would advise reach out to the media and get his story out. Real benefits could come from that, like medical help, financial ones or even his dream job.

You don't need picture for this kind of sensitive issue. Somebody is deeply troubled somewhere and someone (his friend) is trying to seek advice for him.

Posting the person's picture would add more salt to the injuries. It would increase the depression for the person, and ultimately kill him faster or make him to commit suicide sooner than he would have.

Remember....once his picture is posted, it would be available to the whole world. And there are so many uncivilized people that will say all sorts of mockery things rather than given positive advice.

He should use his age to his advantage. Dress him up like a granpa, give him a walking stick and ask him to show up to a football pitch like that. Let him go to the court and get a sworn affidavit about his age, this will help him in applying at official places, then he should just build his confidence level. What he has can actually be used as a gift, imagine him using his face for acting or comedy skits and he will make money.

Please tell him not to die. I've gone through that all my life. I've consistently looked 10 years older than I am. Everyone calls me Ma and greets me with both hands. For the longest time, I don't to tell anyone my real age cos they always think I'm lying. So I calmly watch as people add 10-15 years to my life. Avoid the sun? Like for real? Don't you know the sun actually makes you younger. I don't mean staying out all day. I mean just having a brisk walk every now and then. Do this and the sun will fill you with alot energy. Use that energy gained from the sun to exercise. Eat balanced diet to keep your system up. Avoid sedentary life style like sitting put at one position for long hours. Gamers, programmers, etc, I am talking to you guys. Try as much as you can to reduce the rate by which you self-service. Quit smoking and alcoholism. Do these and your life will not be the same again.

A friend of mine is seriously facing depression as a result of how old he's grown.

He disclosed his intentions to me that he wants to commit suicide because of the stigma of not able to do what his mates does that include age limit in the society.

With the love he has for the Nigeria military, he has applied to become a soldier severally but got disqualified on the basis of age. He applied for so many others with the same result.

His age mates who doesn't know much about his situation call him daddy, papa, old man which further worsen his state of mind.

He got fed up when his bank management denied him access to his account with the BVN he presented to make some accounting correction. They said his age on the BVN difer from his looks. They accused him of age falsification.

He was born on 1st of September 1996 but he actually look 30yrs older than his real age.

The question is, what could be the cause of him growing old everyday and how do I make him see positive reasons not to kill himself?

let him change his dressing pattern maybe get fine tshirt with fine pattern & also be wearing floral designed shirts to make him look younger, they must people that will admire him

22brains, My best pal had a similar condition. We took advantage of that real good. His weight also contributed to d issue, but we just dress up, As usual I play the driver, while he is the Oga, my other guy plays private security. We go into places where ordinarily we can't get in. it was soo freaking fun.

When we are 2geda we just flow, we don't care what people think.


Sadly he passed away in his sleep almost a decade ago, I don't think I ever had a genuine friend like him b4. it was just awesome!
