On the 2nd of February I was at community center reading and there was an issue between a student and a security guard.
I didn't know either of them from anywhere
So I left when they started fighting.

I left for department of Economics block only to be apprehended by a visibly concussed security guard who was battered and had a really swollen face
He held me and said I was among those that beat him
Students came out and protested but the school security came and said they just wanted to ask me some questions,I followed them willingly
Only for them numbering about 4 to drag me on the waist like a criminal inside the campus
Paraded me to their office,I didn't resist
I barely stepped foot in the office when they kicked me from behind
I fell and they brought out Cutlass and sticks to torture right in front of the CSO
It should be noted that there were 2 other boys seated on the floor who I later came to know were the real culprits
They asked them if I was among those that beat up the security guard they said no
Still they refused to let me go and locked the door
Before I started throwing tantrums and shouted, the CSO had earlier left for his office,he then sent for me
When I got there,I met the sug secretary general
While I was there out of anger and pain,I told the CSO that even if I was the one that beat up the guard, that they don't have any right to use Cutlass and sticks on me without a fair trial
He now said that I have implicated myself with that statement that if he was still in active service he would have used that to jail me,I refused to back down and stood my ground
After much deliberation he now said that he will release me on trust to the secretary general "on trust" pending when the beaten up guard will become conscious (he fainted while I was being beaten up)
On the 19th of February I got a call from the secretary general that the guard is awake
I rushed to the security office,I met the guard,CSO and secretary general
The guard then testified that I only looked like one of the guys but that I wasn't the one
After this was established, the CSO said I should take everything in "good faith"
Nothing was said about the refund of my medical bills
So three weeks ago I wrote a petition to the VC about it, some days later the sug secretary called me and threatened me to withdraw the petition else he'll stand against me
I ignored him.

Up till today, there has been no response to that petition
The mistake I made was that I didn't get a copy of my own petition (like a kind of acknowledgement that I submitted it).

So I want to ask if nothing can be done

OP, it seems you don't know you're living in Nigeria, and in Nigeria, anything is possible: it is not here that snakes eat money and nobody complains? Haba OP, wake up and know the kind of country you're living in.

P.S : And if you're looking for sympathy from Nairaland and its cohorts , wont get it. Because they too are part of the problem we are facing in Nigeria

if you can't get back at them street-wise,
then you have to let go
