The impunity of the highly placed people in our godless society is really crushing Nigeria. Our Police is always in connivance with those who have cash just to force others to their knees.

Two women and a boy are currently suffering for a made up crime. They were deliberately and falsely accused of killing Mr Steven Iganga Ode, the brother of Major General Gabriel Ede Ode because the military officer and his brothers have grudges with them.

The victims are: Mrs Anthonia Ode (wife of the deceased), Mrs Christiana Agnes Onah (mother-in-law to the deceased), and Martin Ode (stepson of the deceased).

They were picked up by policemen from the homicide section of the SCID in Makurdi and some plain clothes soldiers on the 2nd of March, 2021. The police may not have carried out a proper investigation on the time and cause of death of the Major General's brother so they simply took the written statements of the accused individuals and immediately detained them without placing them under arrest. The family of the deceased lied that he was beaten to stupor and died in the hospital and the police shamelessly adopted this false accusation as fact.

They are currently in remand at the Makurdi prison facility. Two weeks after their detention, the family of the deceased hurriedly buried his body obviously to prevent an autopsy on it.

Evidences abound that, none of the accused individuals was in contact with or even near the deceased at the time he died. He was estranged from his wife and children and was living in a compound shared by his brothers at Makurdi.

The last time any of the accused individuals saw him alive was on 21st February, 2021 (the very same day his wife left him) and he was hale and hearty, in company of his brothers.

Steven Iganga Ode died on 25th February, 2021. Just two days after his death his brother, Major General Gabriel Ede Ode proceeded to launch his newly completed hotel at Oju, Benue State on 27th February, 2021. His death was greatly hushed up and his wife was not informed until she was picked up by the Police on 2nd March, 2021.

She and her children were living with her mother, Mrs Christiana Agnes Onah at Udegi, Ito, Obi LGA of Benue State when she was picked up.

The lawyer for the accused individuals has since secured bail for them but their release is being delayed by the ongoing strike action of judiciary staff union.

Justice can only be delayed, it cannot be denied.

Today makes it three months since the police took away Mama Christiana Agnes Onah, Mrs Anthonia Ode and Master Martin Ode.

They were picked up since 2nd of March, 2021 on a trumped up charge of Conspiracy and Culpable Homicide and detained at the Police Headquarters in Makurdi for a week before being transferred to the Makurdi prison facility on remand.

Mama, be strong. You will get justice from your God over the wicked lie of the devil. Divine help is coming swiftly.

Exactly 1 year since you passed away, Steven Iganga. Nothing happening after your death is your fault. May your soul rest in peace.

They were released on bail as soon as judiciary staff called off their strike last year.

Additionally, Mrs Christiana Agnes Onah (the mother-in-law to the deceased) has been acquitted and freed!

God is on the Throne.

What goes up must come back down. It's sure to end.

On the 4th of May 2022, all 3 falsely accused were discharged and acquitted. Sweet!

All glory to God, the Lord of the orphaned and widowed.
