He didn't declare any of that sin to begin with. undecided
Sin from a Jewish POV, is anything thing falling short of God's standard.

Keep Abel in mind, murder, to start with, wasn't declared, so what pseudo point are you trying to argue here

Sin is as defined in God's Law , which for those of the Old Covenant people, those of the bloodline of Jacob, is documented in the 613 statutes given to them through Moses by God. undecided

We don't know that murder was not declared sin back during the time of Abel... we are not informed of the details of any Covenants God may have made with the people after they left Eden. undecided

To start with, all that was required was just one law, the law of obedience, which was 'you must not eat from the tree..' in Eden, not 613 statutes given to, not to the entire world, but given specifically to the Israelites through Moses by God.

Love, is the fulfilment of the law. If Adam and Eve loved God, then would have obeyed His love. If Adam and Eve respected God, then would have obeyed His love. Do you, after revisting, see that love is the greatest of all. Love is the cornerstone upon which all righteousness and progression rest. Love births righteousness. Everything will pass away, but not love, not faith, hope and love.

The one command you refer to was given only to Adam, and not to all of mankind, and this was Law to him for living in the land of Eden where the Tree specified existed. undecided

After man left Eden howver, God is likely to have made for them a new Covenant/ given them new command or how do you suppose they came about offering their best to God as an offering? undecided

It is obvious you dont know what the word or name Adam means. If you do, you wouldnt have said 'was given only to Adam, and not to all of mankind,'

1. Read the passage again, and this time without blinders on.

Genesis 2 vs 15 - 17

15 The Lord God put the man in the Garden of Eden to work the soil and take care of the garden.
16 The Lord God gave him this command: “You may eat from any tree in the garden.
17 But you must not eat from the tree that gives knowledge about good and evil. If you eat fruit from that tree, on that day you will certainly die!”
This was clearly a message The man, Adam, the only man who, as it turned out, lived in the Garden of Eden. undecided

2. Um.. be careful about the assumptions you make of what is written. Clearly, God's message to Adam, that He, Adam, not eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good(Truth) and Evil(Lie), does not apply to us, or God would not have sent Jesus Christ, full of Life(Tree of Life) and Truth(from the Tree of Knowledge of Good minus the lies) to us. undecided

3. Where do you get this "every other law will pass away, but the law of love is eternal" from? undecided

So no clear directive expressing the taking of concubines as a sin. LoL you are putting words in your god's mouth (as is usual with believers).

Isn't the taking of concubines the sin of adultery as clearly defined in the Old Covenant Law of Moses - Exodus 20 vs 1 - 17 ? undecided

Where you really expecting God to go around announcing, this after making it clear in Is Law, that adultery is indeed sin? undecided

Or did you expect Him to put out a special edict for those who would take out concubines, in violation of His Law already given? undecided

It obviously was not or else David who was rebuked for adultery would have been rebuked as well for taking concubines. Nobody in the OT was reprimanded for taking a concubine. Read Lev. 20 there is no mention of the taking of concubines as an adulterous act. Judah slept with someone he thought was a prostitute and no rebuke, in fact the resulting child was supposedly an ancestor of David and Jesus.

1. Assuming you are referring to the story of David and Bathsheba, David's sin, for which he was rebuked for, was not adultery, this ofcourse contrary to popular doctrine. No, David waited until after Uriah was confirmed dead and properly mourner by his widow, before then taking her, Bathsheba, as his own wife. undecided

2 Samuel 12 vs 1 - 13

1. The Lord sent Nathan(B) to David.(C) When he came to him,(D) he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor.

2. The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle,

3. but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.

4. “Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.”

5. David(E) burned with anger(F) against the man(G) and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives,(H) the man who did this must die!

6. He must pay for that lamb four times over,(I) because he did such a thing and had no pity.”

7. Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man!(J) This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed(K) you(L) king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.
8. I gave your master’s house to you,(M) and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more.
9. Why did you despise(N) the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down(O) Uriah(P) the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed(Q) him with the sword of the Ammonites.

10. Now, therefore, the sword(R) will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’

11. “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household(S) I am going to bring calamity on you.(T) Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight.(U)
12. You did it in secret,(V) but I will do this thing in broad daylight(W) before all Israel.’”

2. Also, do not mistake God's silence for His approval. His Laws are give us either to obey and then be blessed by Him or reject and be punished for. Not all Laws have immediate consequences attached so...undecided

Good so you agree your god was silent concerning concubines. Whether he liked it or not is irrelevant, he didn't condemn it.

'Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”'

You dont only have your L-plate sign round your neck, you also have blinders strapped on your eyes too

Look at you proof-texting with Genesis 2:15-17. If you had taken the time to go a chapter back and 2 Timothy 2:15 studied Genesis 1:26, you would have got the understanding that wherever you see the word man is equates to mankind aka the human race, human beings, meaning man is a collective name for human beings. Adam just means a human being made from red dust. Now what you havent grasped is that you were in Adam when the commandment was given to him and so why you are affected by all and what Genesis 2:17 specifically stated. You were in Adam. You can from Adam. That law was talking to you too while you were 6000+ve years ago inside Adam

Smh, you are free to deceive yourself that the law in Eden doesnt or didnt apply to you.

Adam the prototype failed the Acceptance Testing and prematurely went to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, which the figure of speech, just like saying Ladies and Gentlemen is nothing other than a merism

Good, in that Genesis 2:17 context, is translated from a word, that means and typifies 'Beautiful' while Evil, in the same Genesis 2:17 context, is translated from a word, that means and typifies 'Adversity'. How Good and Evil were used in Genesis 2:17 have nothing to do with Truth and Lie that you are misleading others with. Go study and stop parading publicly your biblical illiteracy.

When the law of love is in motion, every other law is suspended. Love is the fulfilment of the law. Love does not commit evil

The whole law can be summed up in this one command: Love. All the Law and the Prophets hang on two commandments about: Love.

First of all, God already declared it against Him - this in His Law - for anyone of His people to take to themselves concubines. So, His "silence" when a person goes against that which He has decreed, should not then be mistaken for approval of any kind from God. undecided

Secondly, God, on numerous occasions, condemned sin, including adultery, among His people. He did this severally through His prophets. undecided

You failed to show me where your god said concubine taking was a sin. I referenced Lev 20 where the various forms of adultery were spelt out, it doesn't mention anything about concubines. So unless you can show me where it is clearly stated you are simply putting words in your god's mouth (as is usual for believers).

Leviticus 20 lists the various punishments for various sexual sins, and not the various forms of adultery, as you claim. undecided

Adultery is basically understood as the having of sexual relations with a one you are not married to. And so if you cannot see how, a married individual having girlfriends/concubines/lovers falls smack under that umbrella, I can't help you. undecided

You sure dont know what the protoevagelium is, even Eve knew it wasn't the end of the world for her, Adam and the human race.

Adam knew too, its wasn't an end of them, which is why he called his wife, Eve, meaning the mother of all human beings. Eve upon having her first child, thought the promise was in Cain. How mistaken she was, when she said, I have gotten a man, meaning the man, expected man, not knowing that Cain who was of the evil one, wasn't where salvation would come through and from

1. Polygamy was permitted where in the OT? undecided
2. What is "Secret sin"? undecided
3.And where were they "abolished" in the NT? undecided

Like Bass and even little reed has been trying to show you, polygamy was clearly permitted in the OT. God's servants like Abraham, Jacob, David and Solomon engaged in it. Even laws were made for the provision.

Exo 21:10  If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

Psa 90:8  Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
The phrase "SECRET sin" is as the name suggests, sins that are hidden from others. The case of the OP is likely a secret sin, not known by the wife, family, church etc. This was not the case of the so called concubines that the kings had. The concubines were known and they even lived in the kings' or man's house. They were kind of lesser wives, like servant wives. It's not the secret affair that the people don't know on the girl's side and on the man's side. Little reed clearly does not know much, you should know better.

i did not remember using the word "abolish" though. But a study of the new testament shows that it is not permitted. You are pretty much USELESS in the NT if you have more than one wife or one husband. You cannot even be a servant/deacon. And of course, you cannot be a bishop. Basically a leper. And as Jesus taught, from the beginning it was not so. God made them male and female, not male and femaleS.

1. I don't believe you properly processed that comment of mine at all. undecided

per·mit[/b]

* authorize or give permission for (something).
"the country is not ready to permit any rice imports"

* (of a thing, circumstance, or condition) provide an opportunity or scope for (something) to take place; make possible.
"some properties are too small to permit mechanized farming"
Asking you where this permission is declared by God is simply that , trying to ascertain where this idea that God had to, in some way, formerly authorized polygamy and polyandry comes from. undecided

I already made it clear earlier, that from the beginning, God was never against polygamy or polyandry. undecided

2. Jesus Christ never did away with that which God declared from the beginning, so the study of the New Covenant, seems to ignore the teachings of Jesus Christ which is meant to be the Law we live by. undecided

Strange isn't it?

The truth is that there are many chindima ojukwu's out there. This one fortunately was caught before she could escape neatly.

Too many men have lost their lives and destinies to the bosom, laps and softness of so many chindimas out there and will continue to lose. Only God can tell, how many men have lost their precious destinies to girls like her in the church!

The lesson here is discipline! Show me a man who is disciplined enough to stick to his wife and shun the advances of wayward girls and I Wil show you a man who will go very far in life in fulfillment of his destiny from God!

my broda! Even when all evidence point to d fact dat dis their god is iut of his senses, they will still do anything to defend him! Smh!

Since their god is just a reflection of their own mind its kinda not surprising, everybody defends their own thoughts.

While someone's father, husband, uncle, breadwinner, etc has passed away to his lust on a wayward girl, the two above are arguing childishly on biblical doctrine.... undecided

Strange isn't it?

The truth is that there are many chindima ojukwu's out there. This one fortunately was caught before she could escape neatly.

Did David go far in his destiny? What of Abraham?

If both David and Abraham didn't go far in their destinies, would we still be reading about them today thousands of years after their demise?

Childish question undecided

Yet they had concubines so your analysis based on the same bible you are referencing is bunkum.

Genesis 16:2
'So Sarai said to Abram,
“The LORD has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.”
And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal.
'

Genesis 30:1-13
'1When Rachel saw that she wasn’t having any children for Jacob, she became jealous of her sister. She pleaded with Jacob,
“Give me children, or I’ll die!”
2Then Jacob became furious with Rachel.
“Am I God?” he asked. “He’s the one who has kept you from having children!”
3Then Rachel told him,
“Take my maid, Bilhah, and sleep with her. She will bear children for me, and through her I can have a family, too.”
4So Rachel gave her servant, Bilhah, to Jacob as a wife, and he slept with her.
5Bilhah became pregnant and presented him with a son.
6Rachel named him Dan, for she said,
“God has vindicated me! He has heard my request and given me a son.”
7Then Bilhah became pregnant again and gave Jacob a second son.
8Rachel named him Naphtali, for she said, “I have struggled hard with my sister, and I’m winning!”
9Meanwhile, Leah realized that she wasn’t getting pregnant anymore, so she took her servant, Zilpah, and gave her to Jacob as a wife. 10Soon Zilpah presented him with a son.
11Leah named him Gad, for she said, “How fortunate I am!”
12Then Zilpah gave Jacob a second son.
13And Leah named him Asher, for she said,
“What joy is mine! Now the other women will celebrate with me.”
'

1 Samuel 25:39-45
'39When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said,
“Praise the LORD, who has avenged the insult I received from Nabal and has kept me from doing it myself. Nabal has received the punishment for his sin.”
Then David sent messengers to Abigail to ask her to become his wife.
40When the messengers arrived at Carmel, they told Abigail, “David has sent us to take you back to marry him.”
41She bowed low to the ground and responded,
“I, your servant, would be happy to marry David. I would even be willing to become a slave, washing the feet of his servants!”
42Quickly getting ready, she took along five of her servant girls as attendants, mounted her donkey, and went with David’s messengers. And so she became his wife.
43David also married Ahinoam from Jezreel, making both of them his wives.
44Saul, meanwhile, had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to a man from Gallim named Palti son of Laish.

David and Abraham weren't wayward men nah. You can have concubines, if its mutually agreed and consented by all involved parties

Good you agree having concubines was not frowned upon. Reminds me, they were also free to take sex slaves from their captives.
