No one is above the law, he should go to prison.
I hate the fact that he ignored court rulings. Even though I pity him due to his old age and fighting for SA when he was young. But that's not a reason to take the law into your hands like Buhari is doing

Black Africans, this retrogressive disposition is encoded in our gene. A few days back, I was applauding South Africa for its mature level of politics and functioning institutions. Even for how their police technically handled Jacob Zuma in turning himself in willingly is a sign that they are way more advanced than expected. Why will these backwards-thinking youths be on the street protesting and looting over the arrest of a past leader whose hands are heavily soiled in corruption? A leader that doesn't even know u exist, just imagine. angry
Nobody is above the law but in africa actions like this have implications that could lead to destruction of lives and properties. Zuma is still popular and many will not accept that he was sentenced without trial simply because he did not honor an invitation to a panel setup to investigate a nuclear deal and other state capture allegations. He’ has not been found guilty of corruption or murder . First offender for contempt , 80 years old , ex deputy president and ex president being messed up using the law will definitely not go down well with his supporters and hence the backclash

Very stupid country

It is not a stupid country. Protesters also loot and burnt cars in the USA this year.

So, calm down. The ability to send an ex president to prison is commendable. Not many country has such guts. Not Nigeria.

Oh really? I heard they also know how to arrest their former corrupt presidents instead of building statues in their honour and naming major roads after them. FYI, Zuma doesn't have a single statue in Zululand wink

Exactly!.

Cyril and his gang of captured judges also forgot that the Zuma faction of the ANC were once called terrorists by the apartheid government; bombing strategic places of the economy ,hijackings & heists to fund their struggle wink. Now add to this group ; opportunistic criminals, unemployed, hungry & angry youth and you will get the disaster that is unfolding . His funders are now bleeding ; their businesses are being targeted for looting and destruction grin grin.

But then again ,maybe Ramaphosa is using the popularity of Zuma to collapse the economy cry;

Southy and outrage. It's well sha!! Let them allow the law have his course, even if he was a former president, no one is above the law.

They should jail him for corruption not for refusing to appear before a clearly biased commission that targets only a certain crew. If Zuma is guilty of corruption why are his accusers not taking him to court with their evidence ?

U see why I say blacks have backward mentality? How on earth will someone feel he's above the law, thereby disregarding court injunction. It's anti-democracy for a democratic leader to act in such a manner. Forget about popularity among the people, he's taking that into an advantage by indulging in anti-democratic practices. Things have to be done in the right way, that's the only way Africa can grow democratically.

As expected... I don't think the US government can put Obama or Trump in detention and sleep with both eyes closed. There are many ways to deal with past presidents one of them is house arrest.
Can Buhari put Obj or GEJ in like and still think Yoruba land or Niger Delta will not riot, not possible

Yorubas don't support corrupt leaders. If they put Obasanjo in prison for stealing, nothing will happen.

Even ex - president Thabo Mbeki warned of this. But Ramaphosa and his apartheid backers are too arrogant, the streets will teach them a lesson ( it's their busineses under attack now ).

He stopped honoring the commission's summons because he has an issue with the chair which believes will influence the outcome. He asked the chair to recurse himself but instead the chair remained seat tight and began to witch-hunt him. Something like Zuma having messy divorce with a relative of the chair or so (don't know the full details). Strengthening democracy on one hand and destruction of lives/properties on another hand. I'm even beginning to hear some of Zuma's enemies condemn the judgement. Apparently they even went straight to the highest court making it difficult/impossible for him to utilize his rights to appeal. On Zuma's part he should have seek better legal advice to avoid this

BTW, black South Africans must be terrible humans. They always look forward to protests so they can loot the shops of hardworking business people. Aside from the EndSARS protest, Nigerian protesters rarely loot shops during protests. I think these SA blacks are even worse than Nigerians.

LMFAO, Nigerians have scary vices of their own; human trafficking, kidnapping, terrorism etc. Please stop being a comedian cheesy grin. And wasn't it Nigerians that were looting onions recently while protesting against fulani herdsmen? grin grin. And didn't Nigerians loot fellow Nigerian businesses not so long ago hiding behind the fight against xenophobia in South Africa? grin grin.
