It's not like the final judgement of the court, it's more like the court saying no one should do anything until they decide the case. I asked because you said it is the normal procedure when a case had been decided at the lower court. If the case had not been decided at a lower court, there is no point making reference to the lower court in your initial submission. It is quite misleading.

This is a direct case between two states and the FG so the Supreme Court is the court of first instance.

You are wrong about the supreme court hardly granting injunctive relief. The supreme court grants a lot of injunctive reliefs. The case in this story is even an example for you. The order by the supreme court in this case was an injunction not a final decision on the matter.

The SC does not have original jurisdiction, except in a Federation v States or States v States situation.

Injunction is a separate relief you seek from the Court. The Court has to find the merit or otherwise, before granting same.
