While talking with a friend of mine the other night she revealed that her boyfriend has not been spending the night at her place as usual for the past two weeks becasue [size=18pt]"His birth control pills he's been taking ran out and he has to get his money together before he can buy some more."[/size] I laughed because I thought she was joking, but she was dead serious. I actually hesitated and questioned my own intelligence for a few minutes before catching myself. I told her I am 99.999% sure that no such thing exists and she needed to get rid of this loser because he is a bloody liar. She not only still believes he has told her the truth, she is on a mission to search for the pill container so that she can look up the drug. She doesn't want to believe that he has spent the last 4 months lying to her about 'being on the pill" (LOL), when no such thing exists. Here are some facts this boyfriend of hers states: He takes one pill every other day, his insurance covered the cost but he doesn't have insurance anymore so he will have to pay out of pocket, he can't use condoms because without the pills he doesn't want to 'risk it'. After I spent 3 hours trying to convince her that he is a lying sack of shit, she tells me that she would find it hard to let him (this jobless guy) go even if he lied about this. I told her that I wanted to reach through the phone and slap the silly from her head.  |

Male birth control pills and injections do exist. But i doubt its mainstream yet- so the ops story isnt totally unbeleivable. If he is truly using them ,the drugs will still be very expensive and probably exclusive. The problems with male chemoprophylaxis is that they wont use it, i think thats why trials were probably abandoned. 1 Like |

Yet they expect women to swallow those carcinogens  The last time I read about male birth control pills was about four or five years ago. They were still being tested at the time. I don't remember them ever making them available. As I search now, I'm still not seeing anything about pills ready for public consumption. I, personally, wouldn't believe him, unless he's Bill Gates and has his hands on what's not readily available to the public. |

I've done research on it. Everything is said in future tense. Such a pill will be out "soon", "five years from now" (said in 2006), "in as little as three years" (said in 2011). It's all speculative. Like queensmith, a lot of men won't take it because they fear side effects (go figure) or forgetting to take it. Some women fear men will forget as well lol, so I don't see pharmaceutical companies continuing to invest in something that probably won't sell. If they were being sold, the world would've known by now. |

Im nt too sure 190 ,if anything its probably sold in the states, i know its safe, its hormonal, i think it controls sperm production and release. It wont be a good idea for it to be released in nigeria because it will encourage the spread of std. We definitely dont want that! Lol  |

queensmith: Okay, so where did I say it doesn't exist? I said it isn't available for public consumption. That includes the United States. It doesn't affect sperm production. It stops the muscles from contracting and releasing sperm. The effects of that usually go away in half a day and the muscles are good to go again. |

So cos you think it has not hit the shelves that makes it true? It has been realsed long ago just did not have enough response so not much noise was made about it but that does not mean you cannot get it from pharmacies. Just give a reason for hating on the guy and stop raising excuses |
