@Queensmith - Ignorance is embedded in you. i read somewhere to never argue with a fool as it'll only be a platform for the fool to showcase thier foolishness. Depo Provera is a female hormonal contraceptive injection which has to be topped up every 12 weeks. Show me the Ministry or dept of health or better still, a Doctor or Pharmaceutical company that says its ok for men to be injected Depo provera as a form of contraception. The "childsupportannalysis" link you pasted is a link to a forum for survey on whether men will agree to use male contraceptives and/or how it'll work if its indeed licensed, besides thats a link dates 2000 (11years ago). In the medical field, thats a LOTTA years. The link i posted backing my facts is FeB 2011. So girl, try not to showcase ur dumbness anymore than you already have. |

@Queensmith - lest i forget, testosterone gels are prescribed for men who have low testosterone. FYI - Low levels of testosterone in a man can make the patient suffer from low sex drive, impotence, low sperm production etc all of which can cause the man to be INFERTILE. and the use of Testosterone gel is to aid the reversal of the above symptoms. So tell me, why would a man who has no intention of fathering a child, use the gel as part of a daily lifestyle? a gel that's known and LICENSED to aid the increase quality sperm production, sex drive, fertility et al |

queensmith: @Queensmith, going through your posts threw up what natasha had already told you above. More importantly though let me quote copiously what was on the site that was the basis of your second link

Natasha, you saved me the trouble. Here is a link summarizing the different methods that are being studied, none of which are available for your doctor to prescribe. http://malecontraceptives.org/methods/index.php |

Multiple male hormonal contraceptive protocols have been developed. One is a combination protocol, involving injections of Depo-Provera to prevent spermatogenesis, combined with the topical application of testosterone gel to provide hormonal support.[23][24] Another is a monthly injection of testosterone undecanoate, which recently performed very well in a Phase III trial in China.[25][26] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_contraceptive you ever heard of 'off label use'?? I will ignore the lamentations, you obviously dont know as much as you claim. Like mentioned, the combination works well to prevent spermatogenisis, with no extensive side effects. Theyve deceloped this since 1992 and the same combination has been proven in ove 10 countries. If someone desperately needed male contraception it wouldnt be difficult for a doctor to prescribe it. @aminalib-- you wont because its not official, it hasn been approved and it hasnt been picked up by a pharmaceutical yet, mostly because there was problems with compliance. But it has long been proven that the combination works to decent effect. |

Queensmith your ignorance really amazes me. There is no intellect or learned person that'll consider ANY info from wikipedia a fact and you know why? Because anybody and i mean ANYBODY that has access to a computing device can edit any info on Wiki. You can edit the info on the link you've supplied so also can i, so also can a 4year old learning how to type. Wikipedia isnt regulated. So if you want to provide a link as your evidence, please use regulated accredited sources. |

Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by queensmith: 6:53pm On May 18, 2011 |
Natasha ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS?? You honestly think i edited wikipedia? O gurl im actually just gonna ignore you, go on wikipedia and source the infor urself. Wikipedia has references. I doubt you know anything, like i said before just because a drug isnt on the news ,doesnt mean it dont exist! |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by natasha: 9:47pm On May 18, 2011 |
Queensmith i never said you edited wiki. All i said is that wiki has NEVER been a reliable evidenced based resourced as it can be edited by anybody with access to a computing device. its not an accredited reliable online resource. You need a certified accredited website as your evidence. Selah |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by Nobody: 12:42am On May 19, 2011 |
queensmith: Bros mi oooo, I still dey wonder why you backed up claims of male birth control pills with articles referring to testosterone shots. |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by queensmith: 6:57am On May 19, 2011 |
ogugua88: because the testosterone gel + injections of dp have been proven to work to that effect. the article suggests unapproved use of the gel (though for a different reason) on patients. Whats missing is a industry backed product. Since most of the studies conducted were done so years ago and there is use of it in china and india its safety has already been confirmed. If a pharmaceutical were to produce the injections it will be of the same combination but under a different name. Just like a cure for cancer if one desperately needs it one can get it and a doctor can easily prescribe the two (and advise use of the right quantity). Of course like i said before its unapproved and its not marketed for that reason, but its still available and i wouldnt be too surprised if there are many using it for that reason. |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by Nobody: 6:32pm On May 19, 2011 |
Good. We're not discussing injections though. You were backing a stranger's use of male contraceptive PILLS. I want proof on those pills is what I'm saying. |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by queensmith: 6:43pm On May 19, 2011 |
ogugua88:LOL as if it makes a difference! fact is they exist, ive shown you they exist. Im not backing the posters claims. Im just confirming the existence of the pills. |
Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by Nobody: 6:46pm On May 19, 2011 |
It does make a difference actually. This is copied and pasted from your source, which was last modified 27 April 2011: "One goal of research is to develop a male oral contraceptive, a male contraceptive that can be taken in pill form by mouth, as The Pill was for women." The bolded is future tense. You never confirmed the current existence of pills. You've been mentioning testosterone injections. |
