But you are saying that no one is justified by his righteousness. It is you that contradict yourself.

Answer

What I say is that no man can be justified by self Righteousness

Note the difference

No one is be justified by his own Righteousness or by his self Righteousness

That is what God says

You can only be justified by the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus
1 John 3:7-10 is God's righteousness?

Now from the admonition of John in that portion, HAVE YOU SEEN THAT THOSE THAT DO RIGHTEOUSNESS ARE SONS OF GOD? HAVE YOU ALSO SEEN THAT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A MUST IN THE LIFE OF ALL CHRISTIANS?

Yes or No

Jesus Christ why are you not understanding this steps

Now let me repeat it
There are two types of Righteousness

THOSE THAT DO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Without having Jesus as their lord God and Savior

God said that Righteousness is self Righteousness

****'*' '' ''

Now those who believe in Jesus as their God and Savior

God said he will give them holy spirit and holy spirit will give them the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus

Then THOSE THAT DO RIGHTEOUSNESS
Under this conditions are the sons of God

My understanding is that while you insist that Christian's ability to work righteousness is null and void, John say that those CHRISTIANS WHO ARE DOING THE WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS ARE THE SONS OF GOD. Meaning Christian's righteousness matters.

Nothing like Christian Righteousness in the Bible

It self Righteousness

Or the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus

As long as you are in Christ Jesus that is what guarantee you will be saved

That is what gives you right stand with God
The thief on the cross did he do any Righteous act apart from only believing Jesus

Bible said we did not do anything yet Adam sin was given to all of us

That is the same way we received Jesus Righteousness without doing any good works

Now when you now receive Jesus Righteousness Bible says start doing good work don't live in sin

And you can't even live in sin because holy spirit and sin don't mix

Ok... What is God's righteousness to a Christian?

The Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus is
right standing with God. Righteousness is the condition of being in right relationship with the Lord. This can only happen through total faith and dependence upon Christ.

Pursuing righteousness of God in Christ Jesus means we become a “work in progress.”
It's perfected over time through our obedience to Jesus ,
and it slowly reveals itself as evidence of our faith.
We work at it every day with the goal of seeing its true perfection each day Jesus is formed inside us until one beautiful day when we see Jesus in person.

Righteousness Of God in Christ Jesus is when holy spirit comes into your heart he begins to work in you and you begin to do the actual work that God says is good work

First Commandment:
Jesus affirmed that we are to worship only God (Matthew 4:10; Luke 4:8

Jesus added
by showing he is God....... John 20:28... And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Second commandment
Don't worship idols.... Jesus confirmed this law still continues... Matthew 4:10

Jesus added...
: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the. Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

In order words worshipping idol is worshiping Satan

Third Commandment:
Jesus repeated that we should not use God’s name in a vain manner (Matthew 5:33-37).

For those who bear the name of Jesus or christ or even God as their nickname or real name God forbid it because people will start calling you those name and begin to use it in vain

Jesus added...

That is why Jesus warned us to not swear falsely in Matthew 5:33–37. He also told us to not swear by heaven since God is there.

Fourth Commandment:
Jesus set the example for us of keeping the seventh-day Sabbath (Luke 4:16), during Jesus time it was a particular day Saturday

but Jesus clarified....
that God had given the Sabbath as a gift to the people he had created (Mark 2:27).

Fifth Commandment:
Jesus taught that the commandment to honor our father and mother still applies (Matthew 15:4).

Jesus added

But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

In other words if any parent dis honors their kid he list out the punishment

Sixth Commandment:
Jesus confirmed that the command not to murder is still in force (Matthew 19:18).

Then Jesus added
...

But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother[d] will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults[e] a brother will be brought before[f] the council,[g] and whoever says ‘Fool’[h] will be sent[i] to fiery hell.Matthew 5:21.....

Seventh Commandment:
Jesus likewise taught that the command not to commit adultery still applies (Matthew 19:18).

Then Jesus added
...

You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman/wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:27–28)

Eighth Commandment:
Jesus taught that the commandment not to steal continues to apply (Matthew 19:18).

Jesus added...
You shall not defraud.(Mark 10: 17-22

Ninth Commandment:
Jesus listed the prohibition against lying as continuing to be in force (Matthew 19:18).

Jesus added....
any one who lies devil is his father

John 8:44
When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies

10th Commandment:
Jesus and Paul taught that Christians should not covet (Luke 12:15; Romans 7:7).

Jesus added
...
"Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life doesn't consist in the abundance of his possessions."

When you hear Jesus came to fulfill the law
it actually means to expand it and to make it full

Bible only defines two Righteousness

1)Self Righteousness

2)God's Righteousness Also called the Righteousness of Christ Jesus

Bible Described and "not defined", the 2 types of righteousnesses Men Do which all men will see.

Bishopkingsley:

Righteousness is the condition of being in right relationship with the Lord.

Throughout the Bible, a close examination of the facts of righteousness reveals that righteousness means that which is good and very good and which reasonably harms no one.

Not "a condition of being in a tight relationship with God" for exactly as your phone is to you, all creations are already in a tight and inescapable relationship with God, whether they like it or not.

However, Righteousness determines whether that relationship will be Good or adverse for the creation, which is what the Bible is giving counsel for.

I do not wish to have a lengthy argument with you because I know that no matter how long I reasonably prove that your way is wrong, you will not change it, for you know that the implications is that it must take a lot of real and diligent work from you so that you can directly obey The Words and Law of God, which you do not want to do.

So seeing that you want to take the convenient and easy way, I do not have much to say, for the Bible is very clear that God Will Judge us our Doings aka Deeds aka Works.

And as the parable of the talents has told us, Doing Nothing is Condemnation just exactly as doing evil is also condemnation!

Bishopkingsley:

Accept there is no good work that can save you

Like the child I mentioned above, good work will not save you because you have already done evil works and you are judged for all your works, both good and evil. That is what judgement on the merit means.

But if you have not done any good works, then surely, you have done evil works, because all work and all must work, so which type of work have they done?

That is what The Judge is going to determine on that day.

And ditto: To do no work, is also a work. It is called the work of Omission in Law exactly what the servant with one talent did which rendered him guilty of Condemnation.

So whether a person works or does not work, you are already in the box of work.

Bible is totally different from man ways of thinking

Go to dictionary it will not tell you what self Righteousness means it will not tell you what God Righteousness in Christ Jesus means

But Bible clearly defined it and also describes self and God's Righteousness

Now yes your definition of Righteousness is correct
righteousness reveals that righteousness means that which is good and very good and which reasonably harms no one

But this definition is what God actually calls self Righteousness
God says it is dirty filthy rag to him if you don't have God's Righteousness to back up your self Righteousness

Now based on judgement on the last day Jesus is the one to carry it out

Those who are in Christ Jesus are not going to be judged per say like unbelievers because they already have the Righteousness of God in them

Our judgement starts on earth here now because God uses his commandment in our heart to correct us each day, no child of God will know peace when they sin that is why when we sin we ask forgiveness because we know who God is
God knows those that are his, God says judgment start with his people with those in his temple so our own is happening now.

For by grace you have are saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God - not the result of works, so that no one may boast (Ephesians 2:8,9).

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).

Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1, NASB).

The person who has faith in Christ has already had judgment rendered. That person has been justified—that is, declared righteous—by God on the basis of Christ’s perfect work on his behalf.

It is as if the final judgment that would have happened on Judgment Day has been rendered in advance. All who have faith in Christ are declared righteous, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

They have nothing to fear on Judgment Day because their punishment has already been borne by Christ on the cross (Romans 8:1).

Notice on judgement day those who are in Christ will be resurrected first before sinners will be resurrected

For those who have faith in Christ, Judgment Day will be the day of final salvation when they are rescued from all of the adverse effects of sin (Malachi 4:2–3).

No
Bible says the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus is a gift
When you receive the gift of the holy spirit the holy spirit gives you the gift of the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus

This power is what enables you to do the good works of God it gives you ability for sin not to dominate you

Self Righteousness can not solve the problem of the sinful heart because sin originates from the heart

So when you receive the gift of Righteousness in Christ Jesus then God treats the sinful heart as he treat the sinful heart then you can be able to do good work for God, you can only then carry out Jesus commandment

The holy spirit is what empowers you to be able to do what Jesus says

No man can do the commandment of Jesus on their own power that what God is saying

Answer
No that is not what said

You can not flee from evil because God is saying all men heart is wicked and evil so there is no way you can succeed to run away from thinking evil that is what you fail to understand

Doing good works is not running away from evil because you can pretend to do good things when your heart is full of wickedness and hate

You can not use your mind to define or describe what Righteousness of God is because God said it is a gift

So trying to form what the Righteousness of God is on your own definition is another evil all together

Jesus knowing there will be TV in the future made provisions for us to be mindful of sins committed in the mind n heart etc wrong imaginations

Jesus commandment or ten commandment above is what God said he will write in the heart of those who believe in Jesus

This are some of the the goods works
On sabbath keeping, was the keeping of sabbath counted as a work of "righteousness" for the children of Israel?

Was their ability to keep the sabbath a work of the Holy Spirit?

Good....

On sabbath keeping, was the keeping of sabbath counted as a work of "righteousness" for the children of Israel?

Was their ability to keep the sabbath a work of the Holy Spirit?

Now during the time of the Isreal
There are two types of law

Moral law called the ten commandment

Ceremonial law which is almost up to 500 laws it found in Deuteronomy

Now during this time if you break one of the commandment you have broken all

So keeping of sabbath will it be counted as a work of "righteousness" when you break other one is no

Now let say you pass other laws
Then yes will be the answer

Note it is a work of Righteousness

But it is not the Righteousness of God

Was their ability to keep the sabbath a work of the Holy Spirit?
Answer no

So in the old testament there was evidence of the Holy Spirit enabling the children of Israel to keep the law.

If a person has fled from evil and did not Do any evil thing does that person not Automatically DO the Righteousness God has Ordered?

Answer
No that is not what said

Since you say no, there is nothing more for me to say for it is apparent that you do not know that a person can not be both Hot and Cold at the same period of time.

If you are not hot, then you are cold.

If you are cold, then you are not hot.

If you are inside the house, you are not outside the house

So it is here, if you avoid all evil, then you do no wrong and if you do know wrong, then you do righteousness.

HardMirror:

You can not flee from evil because God is saying all men heart is wicked and evil so there is no way you can succeed to run away from thinking evil that is what you fail to understand

Doing good works is not running away from evil because you can pretend to do good things when your heart is full of wickedness and hate

All these are clearly off point for you are just raising excuses as to why you do not want to Obey God's Clear and Direct Instruction of fleeing from evil, which is your problem, not mine.

Bishopkingsley:

You can not use your mind to define or describe what Righteousness of God is because God said it is a gift

So trying to form what the Righteousness of God is on your own definition is another evil all together

I have clearly laid what righteousness is as disclosed by the Bible and you have not controverted it.

The mere fact that you do not like Cold Hard Truth of it is immaterial.

It's your bed and it is you who shall pay on it, I'm done!

Answer No
Don't contradict yourself please... Read what you posted about God's righteousness... You said that it is the Holy Spirit that gives you the ability to do them.... Then why did you say that Jesus shew example concerning Sabbath as keeping it is doing God's righteousness.... But Israel's own Sabbath keeping was their work of righteousness not God's righteousness.
So there is a difference between Israel's Sabbath and Christian's Sabbath?
Bishopkingsley:

That is why Jesus warned us to not swear falsely in Matthew 5:33–37. He also told us to not swear by heaven since God is When you have the holy spirit you will be able to do the commandment of God
Which is good works

Which is that Righteousness that you define before which is what is outward works

Without the holy spirit that gives you the power that power is do God's good work is called the gift of Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus without this gift you cannot do that commitment of Jesus

Fourth Commandment:
Jesus set the [b,]example for us of keeping the seventh-day Sabbath[/b] (Luke 4:16), during Jesus time it was a particular day Saturday

but Jesus clarified....
that God had given the Sabbath as a gift to the people he had created (Mark 2:27)

Compare and contrast the differences in your old Testament keeping of Sabbath and your view on Christ teachings on Sabbath.

Was their ability to keep the sabbath a work of the Holy Spirit?answer yes because no laws can be kept without God help

So in the old testament there was evidence of the Holy Spirit enabling the children of Israel to keep the law.

Answer

The Old Testament records the Holy Spirit giving special ability to certain individuals:
To carry out a special work

Israel was supposed to do the Law according to God’s command and obey it not to secure redemption but as a means to reflect His glory and draw all the nations to worship the one, true God.

When used to this end, the Law could make the old covenant saint rejoice (Deut. 31:9–13; Psalm 119).

Note At the same time, the Israelites were to see their inability to do the Law perfectly and hope for God to remove their transgressions (Isa. 53; Gal. 3:15–29), repenting and offering the prescribed sacrifices to cover their sins temporarily until the coming of the Messiah.

What was helping them to keep the law was their obedience to offering the required sacrifice each time it is required

If they were keeping the law without God help (because holy spirit is God)

Then there will not be need for sacrifice

So your answer is yes

So in the old testament there was evidence of the Holy Spirit enabling the children of Israel to keep the law.......yes..... God was teaching them how sacrifice can cover their sins there by enabling them to fulfill the law

Answer

you keep going back to the wrong teaching you can not avoid sin you can not avoid evil
Because evil is already in every man's heart

So what you say don't make sense

Please show me the phrase Holy Spirit in the portions of the Bible you posted as evidence of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament?

Sabbath laws is a law that is not stable because the answer is yes and no

Now you can go to temple on sabbath day but also break it when you go to your farm after the temple obeying

But when it comes to the complete law you can't do all of them without God help

See how you show you knew nothing at beginning when you thought you were a Christ Follower such that you ask this foolish question?

It is exactly as you knew since you were a child that if you did any wicked thing to another, you are automatically qualified for a wickedness to be done to you.
