Why people would see British airways, Virgin, KLM, Air france, Lufthansa etc etc

But decide to spend hard earned funds with Air Maroc or similar airlines.........

The money you think you have saved, you would spend it in severe pains......... wink

Just cut out one hotel night, beer parlour surplus declaration, money dashing spree etc etc ..... Enjoy your money and fly like a BOSS .......... cheesy

I agree with you but you know not all fingers are equal. Not everyone can afford BA or others you mentioned and they always have to cut corners to book the ones they did but end up being treated poorly.

The right way to cut waiting time is to do it online.

On the uk website I saw you must have been in the uk for more than 185 days

I just came into the uk last month
Does that mean I can not apply for it?

Good morning my people, please does anyone know about careerera IT training program. They have been wooing me with their training in cyber security and I'm considering them.

The training takes 12 months. 5 months for classroom learning, 1 month for project and 6 month for internship. They said it will cost me 1.2k pounds.

I will pay 200 as initial deposit and spread the rest through 8 installment.

Are they a viable option to break into the IT sector?

Save yourself your hard earned funds and register for a £29 cyber security course on coursera, or udacity, udemy etc. Its not about how much you pay for a course its more about what you use the course for. Also if you have access to a student email account google dca(dot)mmersivelabs(dot)online and register and free access to labs.

Council/Social housing is PUBLIC FUNDS. If your visa says ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ then just forget about council housing.

The bold is misleading. Op was asking about council/welfare housing..

You’re just capping with confidence. Stop misleading people.
Council house/social housing is NOT public funds. It’s not free. It’s low cost housing offered to low income earners. We’ve discussed this issue months ago.

The bolded is NOT misleading. I suggested housing association cos it’s easier to get an apartment from them compared to the local council. Seem you’re not familiar with this topic and you just wanna jump on it.

Homelessness support is public funds and the only exception to this.

NRPF: no recourse to public funds.

Good evening everyone

Please is it a must I apply for the provisional license online of just walk into a post office and get the form.
Thank you all

I actually applied for mine last year with the post office. When I tried to do it online, it required me putting in 3 years of address which I did not have, so had to go to the post office to apply and send off. At that time also, after applying online, you'd have to wait for them to send a document or so to you before the application was deemed complete. But applying at the post office meant it got sent off immediately.
However, it took me six weeks to get it back, and that was when there was a massive backlog in DVLA issuing licences. I don't know if the process has changed or if online will be viable for you. If online is not viable, do offline. It may take time but you'd get it eventually

The time it will take for the hard copy to be posted. Received. Opened. Processed. Is more than the time it will take if it’s done online.

Do yourself a favour, apply online if you want it to be fast.

Hello my country people, especially those living in Scotland. I have a quick question.

Can a tier 4 visa (student) get allocated a council/social housing (Housing association) house please?
And does anyone know ANY tier-4 visa holder who has been able to successfully apply for a Council house (especially in Scotland)?

Thank you for your help.

Key points

Local authority officers working in frontline services need to be able to understand how a person’s immigration status affects their entitlement to benefits and other services, in order to ensure that people receive all of the services they are entitled to, establish correct referral routes, and take any necessary steps to alleviate destitution.

People who have ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF) will not be able to access most social security benefits, homelessness assistance and a local authority allocation of social housing, but in some cases may be able to receive accommodation and financial support from social services.
Even when a person’s immigration status does not prevent them from accessing social security benefits, they may experience problems obtaining these, for example, because they do not meet other eligibility criteria linked to their residency in the UK, they cannot evidence the length of their residence in the UK, or because their entitlements are misunderstood.

In most cases, establishing a pathway out of destitution will involve accessing specialist immigration advice. It is a criminal offence to provide immigration advice that is specific to a person’s matter unless the adviser is a member of the appropriate regulatory bodies for solicitors and barristers, or is an immigration adviser regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). Local authorities must therefore ensure that staff do not provide immigration advice to individuals unless they are accredited to do so with the OISC, and should consider establishing lists of local regulated immigration advice services to signpost people to.

If you are holding student visa you have zero chance of getting council or housing association house

Council houses are subsidize by tax payers so its a public fund. Someone on student visa is not eligible.

Good evening to everyone here.
Please I need some advice from the Elders/Great minds here.

So I saw a van on auto trader contacted the seller and told him that I will credit his account £200 to show commitments which I did. Cost of the van was £1700. The following day I went to see the van and realized that the van does not come up (start). I told him that let me think if I will continue with the deal or not and that he should give 3-4 hours to make some calls. I left his garage because I needed to do school runs and other things at home.
He kept calling if am still interested or not and I told him that I will get back to him that night.
A couple of hours later I called him that am no longer interested in buying the van since it doesn't start and I will like a refund. He said his boss won't do a refund and that he will get his boss to ring me in the morning.

I waited for his boss' call all morning to no avail. Eventually, the boss called later afternoon and told me that that they will not be doing any refund. That I cannot just be messing people around. I sent him a text message that he should pls refund the £200 and I don't want any problems. He has kept mute since yesterday.

The van has been taken off the auto trader site.

Please I need advice on how to handle this case.

If this is at a garage then you should be getting your money back. You haven’t driven it off the forecourt, you didn’t stop them from selling it to someone else, I don’t even know how you need to go about this. Did you sign anything that you wouldn’t get a refund or you would if you change your mind?

While the Elders look into this matter (and say okodoro ọrọ #reality), perhaps few things to pertinent info that might assist me to look from law of contract
- how was the 'holding' done; call or email or WhatsApp or Telegram or online msg ...
- affirm the £200 ('deposit') was (sort code based) bank transfer
- affirm you have a screenshot of the auto trader post before it was pulled out (or you saved perhaps to PDF or print out)
- was there any as-is t&c (though might be possible to contest on 'cooling period', depending)

NEVER pay a deposit, on a vehicle, if you have not physically inspected it (I bet you, the deposit was non-refundable).......

Another better van is always around the corner........

NB: If you need to pay a deposit, use your credit card.........

Forget about that £200, it's GONE ........

Call your bank and open a dispute. Explain that you paid an agreed holding fee that is refundable so as to view the vehicle but you lost interest when you saw that the item didn’t match what you saw online. Also explain that you’ve contacted the seller and they are refusing to send a refund even though you did not make the purchase. Your bank will perform magic for you.
