Still in school though. I have experienced a lots in life and managed to gained admission. Eating in school is a big challenge , I have eaten many weird food combos. Trekking to school and all that. There was this particular day, I ate Eba and palm oil mixed with pepper.....when I was tired of drinking gari. It's not easy to be an orphan. Better days are ahead . But seriously...I need help. 5 Likes |

To be honest I can't honestly say I had it so bad. But at the same time I can't honestly say I had it so easy. I was just there. I was getting by. My oldest brother is an angel sent by God to help my life. He never disappointed me whenever I put a call across to him. But then I didn't want to overburden him. Again, i am always looking to be enterprising. During one of the long ASUU strikes, i went to ado ekiti and started to hustle. I raised about 150k six months later before the strike ended. With tht money I was able to live decently for a while. Just before the money finished I tried to start a business and succeeded. But I wasnt breaking even so I packed up. The day I will never forget was the day I went to bed on an empty stomach --- for the first time in my life! But the following day I got a connect thru a classmate to do JAMb runs for his elder brother's private school --- i made 7k from that, and i cooked a nice pot of soup. I also made some money writing exams for a few of my classmates. Plus one 10k i made one time from writing jamb for one other guy like that. Mehn ....School life wasn't so easy but I wouldn't change a thing. 3 Likes |

I don't know what to say because the story is long but the episode is short. Where can i start from, it is the time where it very difficult to eat when you will be thinking of maybe the world is about to end or it is time of trekking from school to off campus... but appreciate those partake make it sweet and fun.. God will make your own story to be great...... |

I went through hell back in school. I suffered that my friends and some of my course mates had to shuffle food for me at times I couldn't even afford getting accommodation off campus nor school hostel. I squatted with a family friend who barely feed on it's own. I'm indepted to this family though for providing me accommodation. They gave me roof over my head. I was top of the class despite my condition. I also make sure my close friends all graduated with 2.1. It was during my studentship i knew i can't joined the bandwagon and indulged in cyber crime. I had course mates who are living large and bailing as Yahoo guys. They literally told me to come live with them and forget I've once starved before. They owned their ride and live comfortably. They literally live a gigantic lifestyles. Nonetheless, I never give in. Despite the pressure, I never for once imagined myself in their shoes. They'd invite me to their house during exam period to help them with tutorials, but i don't usually honour their invitation. We only meet in school, do whatever we had to do and get dispersed afterwards. I constantly love taking water to avoid having ulcer. I got discouraged, stressed out and overwhelmed in my final year. I had to work my ass off on menial jobs to pay tuition fees and project work. My Calabar neighbour back then also helped me with food, i was taking his son who's preparing to sit for UTME tutorials. I had the opportunity of using a smart phone ( android) in my final year, this was when my friend gave me hers having gotten a new one I got relieved and happy when i left school, even though i knew deep down i was on my own. I need no soothsayers to tell me i had much more tougher days ahead. I was just glad living that building called school. Seriously school was hell on me. I did participated in some extracurricular activities, that doesn't make it interesting to me. I'm out of school now, but no job. At times, I'd be wondering if i didn't made the wrong choice going to school at first. The noble pandemic (Covid) also came in when i graduated and disrupted everything. Seriously i just need a job to help myself and family. I wonder when someone would start living a normal life. This life is truly not fair to all. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

I'm still in school, it's not easy honestly, lost my dad this January and things have been tough since then. Luckily I just got a new laptop from the Federal Government, but I still need money for data and training to learn digital skills that can sustain me. I worked in a block industry last year to raise money for the laptop, but I couldn't raise half of it then. God will help all struggling students out there. Just keep up your faith and believe, things will be better. 3 Likes |

Omooo! Mehnn!! I started seeing shege the moment I finished my admission clearance as a freshman. I stayed in the hostel then. Many nights I went hungry. No money to buy food nor money for even pure water. No water to buy compulsory text books used as a prerequisite of submitting an assignment. I recall a time before sleeping; I laid on my back faced up looking at the ceiling. I decided to rub my stomach. That was when I realized that I had emaciated to a great extent. Guys!! As I rubbed my stomach, instead of touching some flesh, intestines or even some organs, my hands rubbed on my spinal cord. Like I could feel my spinal cord while rubbing my stomach. That night I decided that the suffering was over! I ventured into campus entrepreneurship. Zero capital services. I began doing assignments for my mates. The uni then made laptops compulsory, I learnt graphics design via YouTube and began designing for a fee. Na so I take escape hunger o! From my second year. I barely called home even for school fees. I graduated also with some reasonable funds in my account. Didn't go back to father's house after that. This life of entrepreneurship, we go follow am to its full course. Today, the journey hasn't been easy. But na who give up, fvck up. Na who no work hard go die of hunger. Shalom. 4 Likes |
