Lagos should be made to stand on her own , That state is a very busy and beautiful state. They should be paying minor stuffs to the central govt and use the rest for it's development.

Lagos is nothing without the rest of Nigeria! It is the activity from the rest of Nigeria that makes Lagos what it is and not the other way round!!

Bulk of the so-called IGR comes from PAYE. Now federal government has almost all its parastertels and agencies in Lagos and Abuja, so you now know why they are earning the most.

The federal government should stop giving Lagos State any sort of monthly allocations unless as relief funds for say any sort of reasonable natural disasters..
The federal government has already helped Lagos to build up solid infastructure base more than any other state bar Abuja. This has given Lagos enough headstart in terms of monthly/yearly tax incomes bigger than that of most west African countries. I don't know why they will be dragging paltry allocations with the likes of Plautue, Osun or Ebony afterwards...

Many west African States are handling mega projects bigger than whatever Fashola or Sanwo Olu have done in Lagos State. Yet Lagos earns bigger revenue but will always comparing herself with tiny Nigerian states. If the people of Lagos State are not willing to take actions to extricate themselves from the evil grip of the Tinubu odious dynasty, they should be forced to stew in their own juice! We can't be sharing our tiny oil money with some drug lord and his platoon of rampaging evil oligarchs..

Tinubu boy,
If you go to other developing countries like China, Indonesia, Malaysia or Thailand, revenues earned from more affluent states/provinces are used to help poorer regions/provinces get on their feet. The Chinese government invested heavily in building up the infastructure of such provinces as Shanghai, Guangdong, shangdong, Zhejiang etc. Theses are mostly coastal provinces. Most physical tradings happen here but most of the products sold in these places are fabricated in the hinterland provinces. This way, the coastal provinces are helping to pay back for the "lopsided" investments in their infastructure by becoming the marketers of the products of the other provinces thereby helping to redistribute wealth. But in Nigeria it's different! Lagos drags everything with everyone after so many decades of federal government ceaseless investments! That's is pure Evil and must stop!
Yes you are correct don't mind them

I get wht you are trying to say
But the federal and state governments can also liaise to develop other states without reducing Lagos allowances
I think both can be run simultaneously
Nigeria can develop across the board
If we are ready and serious
But most of our leaders
Especially at federal level are not serious

And btw, I think we need to stop seeing each other s adversaries
Or think in a mercantilism mentality (I noticed most comments on nairaland are like this)
Lagos can thrive
Onitsha can thrive
Port Harciurt can thrive
Etc
All at the same time
One can gain without being at the expense of another side
Blaxk people in general should stop thinking that way

Rather, Lagos State should stop giving FG money so that it can develop itself.
Lagos will remit say 400bn to the centre, only for it to receive like 200bn after redistribution.
Why did you think states like Lagos, Rivers, Ogun, etc want to stop the remittance of VAT to the Federal Government?

most of it goes to the Federal government, which then redistribute the wealth so that states with weaker economies can survive, at least.
Lagos State will generate 400bn and remit to government, only to receive 200bn back. And people will still be shouting. It's not fair on Lagos. Plus, there's no state that's not inherently corrupt. It's just that some states government don't even have money to steal to start with. They can't afford to.
