Breaking: Ladoja Throws Support For Lekan Balogun to Become Olubadan, Appeals for Calm Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, the Osi Olubadan of Ibadan, has breaking silence over the controversy surrounding who replaces Oba Saliu Adetunji as the new monarch Ladoja who made the clarification when he received visitors at his Bodija house, said the Otun Olubadan, Lekan Balogun is the next in line to succeed the departed Oba Adetunji. Appealing for calm the high chief declared, “uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tensions in Ibadan. There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1”. This was just to clarify that he had no hand in the letter written by an Ibadan-born lawyer and former justice commissioner, Barr. Michael Lana It could be recalled that with the exemption of Ladoja, Balogun and others have been elevated to Obaship status by the administration of late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, an action that is subject of litigation and discussion in Ibadan. Good to hear this. It will douse tension that some foot soldiers have been intensifying since this controversy started. The obaship throne of ibadan is bigger than the interest of any individual and should be respected. Politicians have done greater damage to our culture than western influence. Kudos to Sen. Wazobia2216: See you don’t understand Yoruba politics. Whether Balogun or Ladoja, it doesn’t affect Tinubu chances if he wants to lobby them. They will all check what they will benefit and they will accord the support as needed. Ladoja is naturally corrupt so I don't expect him to think of any other one except himself! While Tinubu might have performed better than Buhari if he was a president, Tinubu has nothing to offer Nigerians! You will see that no matter what he (Tinubu) attains as a politician, he will be easily forgotten! cause he is not selfless! |

Wazobia2216: I will rather support Obi Pandora so he can sell of Nigeria to invest in offshore accounts against the Nigerian law. I will rather support Obi Pandora so he can go ahead to massacre people like he did to his people in Awkusu while failing to provide justice for the deceased. I will rather support Obi so he can invest Nigeria money in his family business and call it economic sophistication. Ibadan will be the most respectable oba in Yoruba land because nobody appointed them except the council of chiefs not like one that governor will nominate his loyalty. |

Following the structure that the late administration did as regards Ibadan, Lekan should not be olunadan, Lekan and the other chiefs were made oba by the last administration but Ladoja stood by the original ibadan settings, The late oba went to court to challenge the damage of the structure the judgement went in favour of the late olubadan, now the case is in appeal court, the question is can one person become oba in two different area Lekan and his geng should just withdraw the case Buccalcavity2: |

macskillzy:Ok. Questions are 1. Does Oyo state government, or the law of Nigeria recognize those chiefs as Kings as at today? Answer is No. 2. Does the Law recognize those individuals as chiefs and in succession to the Olubadan stool as at today. Answer is yes. 3. Is there a court 'verdict' NOT case, that stops the chieftancy succession plan to the Ibadan throne. Answer is no. Any other view is just sentiment or politics. You are right, he will withdraw the suit with just a sentence and 100naira application in court. The intention of Ajimobis intervention is subjective. Depends on who interpretes it. I can't judge as I don't have details. |
