Hello, if your offer is from Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, then grab it. If it is from Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (ISP Limited) Legal metrology. Think well before you quit your current job. While the former is a federal government ministry, the latter is a private agency working with the department of weight and measurement. Thanks

Imagine you become a director or permsec in that federal ministry in the next 25 years! FG work requires patience and it is more stable, if you asked me. For instance, if in the next 15 years you become bedridden (God forbid), FG will still pay you pension till you leave this world or recover. Compare this with the "self-employed" souls which this same situation may spell total doom for them. That's my simple take going by your 100k per month intake.
the only sure way of becoming a super rich perm sec or DG is through massive looting and other conies. Ur analysis is sooo poorly poor

Relative to 100k per month, it's not. Please learn to think deep before countering superior arguments.

There is no such ministry in Nigeria. What we have is Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. Take note. The choice is yours.

Hello Guys, I got an invite at the Federal Ministry of trade and logistics. I don't know how much they pay because I currently have a job that pays me up to 100k a month. Please an advice would be appreciated
I will advise you pick the job. Trade and Logistics is a very interesting business, as well as a rich and busy job. You will be dealing with import and export, form m, idec, etc. Also being a federal job is an added advantage.

You have poverty mentality and if you didn't change you will never be rich in your life.

Which one be Director or Permsec how much is even their salary that you are saying self employed soul will suffer if they get bedridden. Without any form of Corruption a Fulani man selling cows is far richer than a Director or Permsec in a Federal Ministry except if you advising the guy to take the job and loot!

Take the Job and save enough and Japa!
Your statement is absolute truth the current salary of a director in Abuja 670k. Professor is 500k permanent secretary is 750k

Are you aware that pension is now contributory, just like in the private sector? In fact, for pension purposes, you are better off in the private sector if your pay is higher as you get a higher percentage contribution to your pension pot.

My kid bro got a job with one private power company. Same day he was to resume he got offer from NDDC.
The private stuff pay more than twice what NDDC offers.
He called to ask me and I told him to stick with NDDC because it's ministerial appointment and is oensionable job.
In less than 1 year he was made sub-regional project supervisor based on his extra qualifications...and certificates.
In less than 4years he earns more than that which d other job offered with lots of governmental connection plus d projects he attracts to d community which makes him sit with d high and mighty.

Now, my point is that job with d ministry pays much more than that 100k u are talking about if u know how to 'walk' ur way to d top.

Naija buhari-jagaga don scatter your brains.
How many Billionaires are govt employee?

Even your analogy is flawed!
We ve seen millions of entrepreneur enjoying the bedridden stage, cos being an entrepreneur doesn't mean money stops coming in the moment you're bedridden.
If those money stops, then there would be no greats- Greats like; Einstein, Buffet, Gates, Wrigley's, Jones, Ferrari, Ferragamo, Bugatti, Aliko- Dangote, Honda, Porsche, McDonald's, MamaCass, Eric Thomas, Leo Messi, C. Ronaldo and millions others
Meanwhile, our Greatest Nairaland as example, If Seun get bedridden today (Godforbid) Nairaland go still dey pay him.

Get sense bro, be a smart entrepreneur.

He wasn't making comparison with entrepreneurship (Mr Sense). He was trying to weigh two "Jobs", not "business". And the pay of one of the jobs is 100k not billions. And becoming a director, for both jobs, would take years. Let's learn to have some modicum of logic and application of a good mind before trying to counter a superior and well thought-out argument. Don't bother to quote me again, as I won't dignify you with further response until you learn to comprehend a simple statement.

DG n perm.sec are politicize. U much know a senator or bribe ur way to DAT position. The only position u will reach as a ambitious person in govt. Agency, parastatals, ministries is director. D.G is different ball game, eg. a Nigerian working in UK all most all his life, can be made a DG of nafdac. Without minding ppl that had worked for 25years +, with loads of experiences and had risen in ranks in the same agency. Thats why Nigeria is in a deep shit. Take a look our ministers, juxtapose their position and actual area of discipline.

Typical mentality of a Nigerian and that is why corruption and looting will never reduce. Been poor is not a problem but poverty mentality is. A directors or Permsec legal pay is never upto half of small shop business owner doing averagely well. Though you are not wrong because most who reached that position steal public money to the extent you have to be among the richest in your state to compete with them

Pay for a level 8 officer in most ministries is between 65 and 75k I guess

NDDC is far different from most ministry jobs. NDDC that is a cesspool where free money is flowing up and down

Even abroad, we have public servants. What you call poverty, is what others call contentment, a virtue you can't buy with money. Everyone will not be constrained by your definition of success. I look forward to becoming a director, not Dangote.

There is no contentment in poverty my friend. Civil servant salary in this country cannot give a married man with 2 children a square meal a day except you are corrupt. Abroad you are paid a living wage here you are paid starvation wage. I'm not talking about been wealthy I'm talking about giving your family a decent living which you cannot do with civil servant job in Nigeria if you don't steal public money

It depends on a lot of things.Do you love where you are currently earning six digits?Have you made your confirmations to ensure that this fed. job is legit? Can u build a career or do you see yourself building a career out of it? These would form and strengthen your summation.Good luck

A director in NIA is not poor. Not all permsecs are corrupt, just as not all businessmen are corrupt. And yes, you can survive as a public servant and get to the peak of your career and retire with pride. I hate business...and I'm not poor. Stop shoving down your opinion on people. There are many decent people in Nigeria making a decent living on their salaries. Period. Besides, "poverty" is relative...and I counsel you to use your dictionary and check the definition of poverty.
