So what? We may as well have no oil and gas. It's not like the Nigerian people are enjoying the fruits of the oil and gas. Ukraine that is being bombed 24/7 has fuel in the filling stations, meanwhile Nigeria that is sitting on top of millions of barrels of oil has fuel scarcity. Please let's be honest with outselves, the blackman is caused beyond repair. We need the white man to come back and rule us for no less than 150 years, so that sense will finaly enter our heads! 1 Like |

TeeGentle: It baffles me too. Petrol that's not much like gas is placed as premium and given subsidy because the rich too use it most. Kerosene that the poor use, the government removed the subsidy because they love seeing the poor suffer. Now gas is in excess but this people doesn't want to see an average Nigeria life better. The government is the biggest problem of Nigeria. |

Re: NMDPRA: Nigeria’s Gas Reserves Have Reached 209.5 TC by mfm04622: 10:12am On Mar 05, 2022 |
just2endowed: Do you even understand what gas reserve is? Or this is another opportunity to condemn the government? Gas reserve is how much gas we know we have. It is still in the ground. Natural gas are not stored. So if you here reserve, know that the gas is still in the soil. In fact, you don't start drilling for gas untill you have signed agreement with a customer on how much gas they will buy. You plan to sell all the gas you get from the ground before spending a Kobo because you can't store gas. Please remember it is OBJ that removed subsidy on diesel and kerosene, not this govt. I am looking forward to the day subsidy will be removed from PMS too 2 Likes |

MANDIPUTIN: Imo state and Anambra have the largest gas reserves. Abia and Enugu are not pushovers also. More than 90% of the gas reserves are in the SE More than 95% of the gas reserves are in Igboland in both the SE and the SS. 7 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: NMDPRA: Nigeria’s Gas Reserves Have Reached 209.5 TC by mfm04622: 11:07am On Mar 05, 2022 |
just2endowed: Lol!!!! Different things. The gas we are flaring are associated gas. Associated gas are gasses that come with oil production. At the time we started oil production, nobody knew gas was useful, so the normal practice is to flare it as a waste product. When we knew gas was valuable, we started putting pressure on oil companies to separate gas from oil and stop flaring. Issue is, it is difficult and expensive to add infrastructure necessary for the separation. So govt started fining them to encourage them to do necessary investment. So, how is gas flaring this govt's fault? The gas reserve we are talking about are gas that are still in the ground. Most of the gas are not with oil. So investors know they are drilling for gas and not oil. Even if they drill for oil and they know there will be associated gas, they will extract the gas and still sell. We are not flaring our gas reserve. |

Nigeria is a big, fat cash cow for our politicians. They have zero interest in nation building; they have zero interest in national integration or unity. All they see when they think of Nigeria is $$$. |

The gas is in upland Rivers,Abia,Imo,Anambra and Delta State. Notable places are Afam,Ukwa East and West,Aba,Assa,Izombe,Igbariam, kwale and Asaba. The bulk of the gas is onshore while the oil is more on offshore 7 Likes 1 Share |
