There are several causes of snoring like nasal congestion, sleep depravation etc. but if its chronic snoring, it must be narrowed airway which is my own case, the only two remedies would be through surgery or using sleep aid machine like CPAP. (That`s what I am using currently) . Using the CPAP machine with the full face mask helps me a lot. I now sleep comfortably with no issues unlike my sleep before which used to be hellish with occasional choking at night, drooling, very loud snoring, etc. You can get a portable CPAP machine on amazon. This to me, even though its somewhat uncomfortable for some to put on, seems like a long term solution to chronic snoring. Also sleeping on the side might help reduce snoring because it will keep the airway from closed, but once you are asleep and turn back to your normal position, your problem starts.

You should suggest this to him. It's something I came across online from experts while finding ways of breathing properly while sleeping. It's Mouth Taping. That is putting a Cellotape over your mouth to encourage Nose Breathing, which is the ideal deep breath. You can even find some YouTube videos about this.

Your friend most likely has sleep apnea, and he needs to see a sleep doctor for a sleep study to diagnose him and put him on a CPAP machine. If he’s overweight or obese, he needs to shed weight. If he does not address his ailment, it can make him diabetes, hypertension, erectile dysfunction, heart attack and all kinds of diseases.

If your partner is not understanding, slight issues like this could lead to divorce.

Especially with the things we see on the internet this days that causes divorce.

There is this roommate of mine and a friend who snores heavily during his sleep.

This is not that normal snoring we experience the one I am talking about is heavy and seems like life is chocking out of him, the snore is heavy that someone living 3 doors away will hear him snoring with ease.

And this snore will begin exactly 30 mins in his sleep it may occasionally stop and then begins again, he doesn't get to hear it because he is fast asleep but it's disturbing me and makes my night restless.

He has talked with one doctor and he gave him some drugs but it didn't work.

Please is there anyone here with a useful information like the drugs he will take or something like that, lets join hands and save a soul.

Dinner, light and no later than 6pm and should be eaten at least 3 hrs before sleep. Try to track the progress. Snoring should be gone in couple of months.

Firstly, deal with the cause of the snoring

He may be overweight
He may be stressed
He may have a bad sleeping position
Snoring can also be a sign of nasal or even sleeping issues

Don't just look for drugs for whatever happens. Let's talk about the cause of the snoring, then we take it from there

Some people's snoring can sound like bomb blast sef tongue

His sleeping posture matters...His habits is another thing.
Is he fat, does he drink...He may need to watch what he eats...many have fats blocking their air valves.

maybe a deviated septum. He need laser surgery.
or it could be inflamed tonsils that are blocking his throat and needs surgery too.
He could also possibly have Sleep Apnoea

It takes understanding and tolerance to be in marriage, some people don’t want to compromise that’s why they end up divorcing, snoring can’t be the major problem for a partner to seek a divorce

That's why I pity all these people that believe that sleeping over at a friend's place who you're dating is not good.

If you don't share such times together, how would you know that he/she snores that terribly?

There's no cure for those chronic ones.

If you must settle with such, then using separate rooms would be the best.

A sealed room if possible with an AC, if there's no power supply, the person should go and sleep outside.

Nothing is causing snoring other than too much fat in the system.

I used to snore, but drinking full two cups of water every morning and steady morning exercise stopped mine like charm. I got it on Amazing Channels, tried it and it worked.

He probably has Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. He needs to get checked by an ENT specialist or a Respiratory/Sleep physician.

Lifestyle changes like regular exercise, reduction in alcohol, and (for those who are overweight) weight loss might also help.
