HELP, NIGERIAN CUSTOMS ZONE B,KADUNA SEIZED MY GOODS UNJUSTLY, DEMANDS ELEVEN MILLION NAIRA AS DUTY

Thank You Nairalander,The MODs and Everyone, Our efforts are Yielding Results.
For their Inability to pin down any Infringement on Our goods, The Comptroller NCS Forward Operations Unit,Kaduna Zone B, Mr Albarshi Hamid transfered the Truck to @Nigerian Police Headquarters, Kaduna, State CID.

Our Questions
1. Why will they @NigeriaCustoms Zone B Kaduna hand over the Goods and the Convener Mr Chijeoke Nwobodo to the Nigerian Police Hqrts Kaduna, SCID to be investigated for Contravening Kaduna State Laws on Handling of Animals while those Donkeys were purchased in Kebbi State.
2. Why Detain the Goods Convener Chijeoke Nwobodo for 15days without bail for no crime?

Getting The Facts Right
1. Trading in Donkey does not fall under the Prohibition and Contraband list of the Nigerian Customs and other laws of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
2.Those animals were bought in Kebbi state, followed all laid down rules in the presence of the Kebbi state government agencies in the slaughtering and preparation of those Donkey meats.
3. On Donkey hides fall under prohibition
4. No Donkey hides or any other contraband were found in that truck as 14th March when the first Inspection was carried out by the National Environmental Safety Regulatory Agency.
5. That the Nigerian Customs, Federal Operations Unit,Zone B, Kaduna Offloaded the Conveying Truck Four (4) times at Several intervals from Monday 14th March,2022 till Thursday 17th March,2022 and nothing was found incriminating
6. That no Arms or any other Implicative items were found in the Truck.
7. That all necessary certifications, approval and processes were adhered and clearance received by the various regulatory agencies.
Please, we call on the IGPolice Usman Alkali Baba to see what his men are doing in Kaduna

attached is the prohibition list from Nigerian Customs

You can file a fundamental right case against the police and customs to have the man released. It is illegal to detain someone for days without taking him to court.

However this might make the police to bring nonsense charges against you and keep the goods as exhibits to ensure that they get rotten.

This country is just lawless.

Talk to your senator or governor to intervene politically.

Also spread the injustice more on social media

He said Nigeria is a signatory to the International Convention on Wildlife Fauna and Flora and the NCS has responsibility to enforce the law and help protect such animals.

He said that, as a responsible member of the international community, “we cannot allow our nation to be used as a conduit pipe for illegal trade on wildlife. Poaching donkeys is illegal and we urge all those in this illegality to stop it as it we are determined to make it unprofitable including the possibility of sending them to jail.”

He added that illegal trade on endangered species such as donkeys is a contravention of section 63 (b) of Customs and Excise Management Act (CEMA) CAP C.45 LFN 2004.

Have you seen this OP?

This is a case of trading In Donkey Hides, that happened in Kebbi state weeks ago, but the goods currently in question have no Donkey Hides, of which they invited National Environmental Safety Enforcement Regulations Agency to Inspect, which they did and certified that the goods be released to the owners see attached document
I believe the Comptroller, F.O.U Zone B Kaduna, Mr Albarshi Hamish may be up to something else

@CustomsNG should not be shifting the goal post, why invite a Regulatory agency to come inspect the Goods in the first place to ascertain in they are fit for human consumption?
What stopped them from enforcing the Customs act that prohibits the trading and consumption of those Donkey meat and prosecute those who must have contravened the law.
