To be Candid this would be one of the most amusing topics or Question per say to be asked both on Nairaland and elsewhere. Its obvious a good number of Nigerians are into this act dubbed 'flashing' which simply implies Dailing a number from ur cellphone and cutting the call at its instant ring, very funny if you may ask me. Unlike in other parts of the world, 'flashing' have been widely recognised in Nigeria [all thats left is to pass it into law] and also been reciprocated well by recipients. Having Influential Men practising this act is the most eyesoreing part of the whole tale since its obvious they are not hindered from making calls with the money they have. Arguably, 'flashing' have helped many Nigerians who seem not to recognise the importance of recharging their phones, having 50kobo in ur phone will surely get u alerting a recipient u wish to call and with u still holding on to it for a nearby future. On the other hand, the trend 'flashing' have emersely dent the gentleman image of most Nigerians, just imagine yourself been widely known as 'The flasher'! Lol, thats no doubt a shame to carry along. Just tell you bro to stop flashing and call you. I'm not really bothered by the flashing as i WILL NOT call back especially if you are not my brother/sister or parents, and even then. . .calling back will depend on my mood. So this flashing doesn't reduce the money in your phone right? |

To be frank, flashing can be very annoying especially when it is done by someone you know can very well afford to call you. There was a number that kept flashing me for a long time and i decided to call,behold it was a friend during my Uni days in Naija,telling me how he got my number from another friend, that he is now a big boy in Abuja blah blah blah,and i was like WTF! You can imagine how pissed off i was throughout that day! |

i believe that flashing should be a thing of the past now! call rates have really crashed unlike what we used to have from the telcos! any1 caught flashing should be flogged & told to sit out in the sun for @ least 3hours. however, some people are recalcitrant & professional flashers!!! |
