I had an argument with a man who seems better than me in the understanding of the bible. He's a bible scholar. I called him a bible scholar because he's a prophet in a cherubim and seraphim church movement. On the other hand, I attend rccg as an ordinary member. Not the church that matters.

He said it's a sin for a person who keeps any church funds(e.g treasurer) to borrow from it without first taking a permission from the pastor in charge no matter how soon the money will be refunded.
I countered him and mentioned an instance were you're sure the money will be returned b4 the church ask for it and such an instance is never a sin.
We argued for many hours, but I concluded by saying unless he back his argument with a bible verse I'll never believe him. He was dumb on that n can't provide any.
But here there many bible scholars here better than us.

Our Church gives genuine loan to deserving members. Defaulting is a sin mores when you are not charged any interest.

First you can't borrow what is kept in your custody. It's stealing not borrowing.

In borrowing, the owner gives it to you. You don't take it without his knowledge to return it without his knowledge.
