Jesus had promised the apostles that when the Holy Spirit came upon them, they would receive power to continue with his work of salvation to all parts of the world beginning from Jerusalem (Acts 1:  . The effect of the Holy Spirit was therefore to give the apostles power, strength and courage to continue with the work of Jesus. With the help of the Holy Spirit's power in Jesus's name they were able to perform miracles of healing and to preach the Gospel with boldness and courage. This wonderful effect of the Holy Spirit on the early apostles is seen in the healing of the cripple at the Beautiful Gate and the courageous death of Stephen. READ MORE HERE:
