How you know a government that has failed is by the excessive tax on citizens. This is exactly how it plays out before revolution hits.

If the revolution will be instigated by the people, not sure I can count on it happening?

They'll do this and one wicked idiot will embezzle the money! Very wicked government.

The idea is okay, but I fear for the thieves that will hijack it and steal the money.

Woe betide FG and all the senile bastards that arrived and implemented this nonsense.

Nigerian government is very USELESS and EVIL.

THERE'S ALMOST ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THE GOVERNMENT IS DOING FOR THE COMMON MAN IN THIS ZOO.

LIGHT - YOU BUY GENERATOR
EDUCATION - PRIVATE SCHOOL
HOUSE - YOU RENT OR BUILD
WATER - YOU DIG BOREHOLE
HEALTH - MOSTLY PRIVATE HOSPITAL
ETC

A country still struggling with provisions of basic amenities even with all our wealth and the millions of dollars they get from crude oil exportation EVERYDAY, they'll still be taxing us anyhow.

BASTARDS

The Federal Government has slammed a new tax on phone calls in the nation to fund free healthcare for the Vulnerable Group in Nigeria.

The above action by the Fulani Government of Nigeria under the guise of funding FREE healthcare for the vulnerable is very laughable. It's nothing but a ruse to create another avenue to enrich themselves and their friends. What a useless and hopeless society.

Which money is the country making?
I told you the country has the lowest tax to GDP ratio I. The whole world and you are still asking for the money we are making? The money is not enough to do anything.

where is all the recovered looted funds from abroad and the ones in this nation?

That is the problem!

When we hear stolen money, it is a lot for an individual to steal, however it is NOTHING to a government to spend! It won't do anything! Yes, it can plug some holes when we get them, but they are insignificant. Compare our annual budget with how much we are recovering. The recovered amount reach anything?

Northern Nigeria has the largest number of most vulnerable and the least number in tax net and responsible tax payers, and lowest number of GSM calls makers. So every zone gets its tax and VAT to serve their people.

Moreover, Northern Nigeria leaders are the depraving and debacle lots bent on destroying stability and rogress in all parts of Nigeria. At thesame time they keep looting the treasures while institutionalising mediocrity, greed, corruption, incompetence and impunity..

1. Govt cooperate how? In this relationship, citizens part is to pay their taxes and monitor that the taxes are well spent. Govt own is to collect taxes and spend it. So cooperate how?
2. The taxes collected is NOT enough to meet our needs. Are you not seeing the infrastructure going on around you? Then salaries are being paid. The money collected is not enough!
Also, this tax is for a specific purpose. It is to fund provision of health insurance for those that can't afford. Is this not a noble idea?

This is a good initiative if handled well. The Obasanjo administration would keep mum about this back in the day because the funds will go into already full pockets.
