The Enugu Electricity Distrubution Companyn have been very terrible in their supply of power in certain areas of the East lately.

One wonders why they elect to supply power to users only at night when it is largely useless. They supply power at 2 a.m deep in the night, if we are lucky the power stays on with intermittent cuts till 6:30 am- 7:00am when it is then cut off till 2:00am deep in the night. It is almost now a routine. Some days we may stay 2- 3 days without power whatsoever.

Of what use is the EEDC power supply if it can only come after midnight when everyone is fast asleep? How is this supply pattern beneficial to the average Easterner who is a craftsmen or self-employed businessman?
He pays for prepaid, yet he can't generate profit with it. What nonsense!

Pls residents around Aguata, Nnewi South, Nnewi North, Orsu LGA, Ihiala LGA, Orlu LGA. Do we all experience the same terrible situation?

I think it is time for a class action against EEDC. If they are not ready to distribute power when people need it most, of what use is the power to the customer.

Let me use an analogu to prove that EEDC is wasting power and the money of consumers.

I pay you for food because I am hungry, you refuse to supply when I need the food most, I decide to buy the food elsewhere (fuel and generator) and then bring the food when it is not of any use to me. Total waste of resources.

Op u dey complain only about the supply, those e-diots gave me arrears of possibly dead people to pay having issued prepaid meter since 2019 and I moved into the apartment last year without arrears on my previous payment receipts...

Do you mainly use prepaid? Because if that is the case, then they are also losing money, as since they don't supply they don't earn.

But in EEDC case, they actually take our money from our prepaid at night when we are only asleep and the power is useless to us. The next day we queue to pay again, so they can take our money at night when the light is majorly useless. Pure Scam.

The whole thing is looking like a criminal enterprise.

When you talk about lights, forget about Nigeria. We are cursed. Go to Facebook and see how other African countries are mocking the so called Giants of Africa. The way I am seeing things even in the next hundred years there won't be any change. The level of corruption in Nigeria is so deep. The Discos prefer it that way because they are not ready to purchase more electricity from Gencos to supply. They prefer rationing the little they procured two to three hrs daily and gather their proceeds at the end of each month. And I believe our leaders collect their percentage and shut up. Do they condemn this obvious ripping off of the citizens?

Didn't y'all notice that non of the politicians including that clown Peter obiora is even promising steady power supply ? When it comes to electricity count Nigeria out. Since 2years I ve been on generator every single day. Only business owners know there's no light in the country, those at home probably think NEPA is trying.

It appears to be country wide, my area in PH used to have over 20 hours of light daily so we were put in Band A by PHED but what we are getting currently is just a little above 2 hours daily.

The current power supply model by all intents and purposes has failed with a capital F.

I still don’t understand how my 2k subscription which was 25kva I did on Thursday 5:30pm finished on Saturday morning I have just been using only my small student fridge, fan and television then charge my phone, normally 2k recharge lasts up to 7days for me without air conditioners and other power Consuming appliances… as at yesterday Friday afternoon I checked my prepaid balance I still had 23kva…
But what you will not believe is that I personally changed over to generator while going out to play ball this morning to stop my bill from running bcoz there was light but only to come back after 3hrs and changed over Boom!… no light and my neighbors have light… I checked my prepaid meter balance what I’m seeing is 0.00kva I’m still in shock as I’m typing this now,
So please Nairalanders how can a prepaid meter run out even while disconnected? I don’t get it even if it keeps running while disconnected at least I should still be able to have light when I came back 3hrs later.
I have tried calling their customer care but the number is not connecting… please how many of you have experienced this kind of theft with Eedc before pls

If you are not living in the state capital in the East, you endure. Cuz, you are of less priority customer.
