Go to bank and complain

Lemme tell the full story , on the 3rd of April I have received a credit alert of #496300 ,and i didn’t notice it until 6th of April and that’s because I don’t use SMS alert. Honestly I wasn’t expecting any amount of money to come to me, and the name of the sender isn’t someone I know.

I waited for the money to be reversed or for the banks to contact me concerning the money , but no one has done that for the past 2months now. I haven’t touched the money either . I just want to know if I should return the full money ??

Advice needed please

Go to your bank with a formal written complaint which you must collect a signed and received copy. This is very important so as to have future documented proof that you made an effort to return the money because if you don't, those criminals you call bankers will simply withdraw the money and keep it for themselves and when the trouble comes knocking you will not have proof that you made an effort to return the money.

Make sure that the money is reversed before leaving the banking hall because you never know where that money came from. It could be from someone who was forced to transfer the money by armed robbers and since murdered and hence why no one has made a complaint on this transaction. The criminals may have transfered the money in error into your account.

Do not hesitate and do what I tell you asap.

Mistaken bank transfer can land you in big mess .

Individual is accosted by armed robbers who steal his phone and request for transfer pin on his phone app.

Stupid criminals make a mistake in transferring the money to your account.

Criminals kill the victim and hide his body.

You get alert .

Police are alerted of a decomposing body.

Police move body to morgue.

Relatives of victim are searching everywhere for him or her.

Relatives file formal police report on missing person.

Police use phone logs to trace where last the victim used his phone.

A break in the case arises and police begin to look at transaction history of the missing person to find where he or she is from their ATM history. Police request bank records and find a substantial sum transfered to you on the very last day victim was seen.

Your account details reveal your BVN and the Police put an alert on you in the form of Post-No-Debit.

You try withdrawing money on your ATM it doesn't work.

You try simple transfer on your phone and you are prompted to contact the nearest branch.

You then head on to the bank and make your complains, the bank staff sees that your account was frozen by the police with an alert to contact Force Homicide department at the State CID immediately you walk into the bank.

Bank staff delays you and tells you to wait that they will rectify your issue soon.

Same bank staff contacts branch manager. Branch .manager calls State CID while you are chilling in the bank.

Do I go on?

Delay is dangerous . 2 mths has passed doesn't mean somebody can afford to lose over 400k in this economy .

The police may consider your delay as an after thought in trying to exonerate yourself from the armed robbery .

Pray to God that this was just a simple mistake by someone who doesn't know how to go about recovering their money.

So based on advices given here, I sluggishly went to my bank to lodge a complaint about the money and I was told that the owner of the money didn't contact them for any reversal yet.

The transaction been an interbank transaction even made it more difficult , I made it official by asking them to print a document stating that I tried to return the money to it's owner since I didn't know the source of the funds to which they agreed.

Oga am not paying up anything, money dey my account 3months plus and no one claimed it. I don dey spend am Sha. I use am buy Samsung note 10 plus ser . Even if the owner eventually shows up which is very unlikely, refunding it will be on my terms , I fit say na 5k per month I go dey pay
