Genesis was talking about man's physical body. But basically, man is a spirit, that has a soul and live in a body. Death as we know it is just the spirit seperating from the body. The spirit lives on in heaven or hell forever. John 5:8 has nothing to do with death.

God went on to confirm this in Genesis 3 vs 19 - 22 where He further reveals that man was not created an immortal being from His creation. Jesus Christ also affirmed God's claim that man is born only from the physical elements of this world - John 3 vs 5 - 8 . So where does this idea that man is Immortal and a spirit at that, suggesting the creator a liar, come from ?

I believe in John 3 vs 16, Jesus Christ clearly explained there to you that only those who believe in Him aka those who are born-again, can have His gift of Eternal life.

So how can you conclude from that that man is Immortal and man is spirit when you are clearly told there that those who don't believe aka those who aren't born-again don't have access to it?

God did not create people to be destroyed. People, by themselves, by their own volition, create and make the circumstance that leads them to be destroyed in a place of destruction

Blind religious indoctrination does prevents some from seeing in Matthew 10:28 above that souls can be destroyed.

God is immortal. Only God is immortal. Man IS NOT immortal.

Man, aka the first human being started as a non living soul, and at the end of time, some human beings will end back to being non living souls
