I am not a PDP or Ekweremadu supporter but I have reason to believe Ekweremadu went through the proper channels.

You could argue that Ekweremadu tried to take advantage of a poor boy and offered him a better life in exchange for a kidney. You could argue on the morality of it but it isn’t illegal! They had a deal.


This is what I think happened.

Either the boy scammed Ekweremadu by lying about his age from the start knowing when he gets to the Uk all he has to do is claim to be a minor and get asylum. Or realizing he wasnt a match, the boy realized he had no usefulness and pulled a fast one. From the clothes and his posts on his Instagram page, you could tell he was being taken care of, contrary to his claims to the police that he wasn’t treated well.

I have no doubt there are many people who engage in organ harvesting for rituals and other reasons in Nigeria but the fact that Ekweremadu wrote to the embassy and specifically detailed the nature and purpose of the trip suggests to me this was above board. This does not mean he hasn’t knowingly or unknowingly broken some laws.

The test to know if the kidney is compatible or not is not done in Nigeria. You need to undergo the test first before the real transplant is done. Same thing goes for blood donor. You don't just donate blood just like that. A sample of your blood would first be taken for screening before you are asked to donate.

The Legal Thing was done before travel

Before they all travelled to the UK for the procedure, everything was fine. Visas were approved and all the normal procedure was done by the Ekweremadus. That is why no one was denied visa and no one was refused entry into the UK including the boy.

The problem surfaces

The problem started when the doctor that was to carry out the procedure asked the donor how old he (standard procedure) and the boy innocently told them his real age because he has no single knowledge of the entire visa process. His own was that "we wan carry you go UK."

The doctor had to suspend the procedure immediately and request that another donor be brought in as it would be unethical for him to continue with the procedure.

The Ekweremadus became desperate

So what is your point of this ranting. If Ike declared his intention, even wrote letter to the embassy to that, the UK embassy processed the request and granted the Visa, then where is the crime. Ike just only need to prove that the boy is 21years of age and show proof of consent.

2. Some part of the story says the senator was caught at the airport with £20,000 enroute to Turkey. After the UK doctors declined using the boy after he declared he is 15, did the senator decide to move the boy to Turkey for the operation to be performed there? There is an element of criminal intent there.

3. Did the hospital alert the police that an underage boy was being coerced into donating his organ without any parental consent.

4. That boy actually looks like he is 15 going on 16. As long as he has not celebrated his 16th birthday , he is still 15 years old.

Providing a letter to the embassy for visa application with a reason for the travel is not the issue. It is the other things surrounding it. Did they show that letter to the boy during the visa application?

Was everything shrouded in secrecy with the poor boy left in the dark as to the real reason why the heavens have chosen him for the senator to favour him and carry him abroad to better his life.
You can imagine his shock, when he got there only to find out that all the niceness to him was about getting his kidney and not about actually helping him.

That's not correct. I know someone who was okayed a donor here. They travelled to the US however, same test came negative. She had to return to Nigeria while the patient joined the Wait-list
