First of all, I'll like to say that I respect everyone’s opinion and my post is not in anyway to castigate anyone here. But then here goes my opinion and remember, this is my personal opinion, just as simple as that. Allta, tinu97, kemjisuper, abacus, abanna, temmie10 and others with the same mindset; thumps up for you guys for the word of God says 'And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free, John 8:32'. And for denex, crazykid, seun, olrotimi, and others with the same mindset; Jesus said: 'Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do, Luke 23:34’

The understanding of the word of God is only by inspiration and revelation and so does the prophecies of God, only he who God inspired and revealed them to can understand the in-depth of it. Remember all, that we are talking about the Lord of host here; who crated the Heavens and Earth, who gave us the breath that's we breath, who is the Beginning and the End, who is capable of destroying the whole world is a twinkle of an eyes if He so wish. What common sense do you have that was not given to you by God? What sense of judgment do you have that was not given to you by God? When God commanded; 'Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm, 1 Chronicles 16:22’, note that there was no exception to that commandment and then He added another: 'Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment, John 7:24’. How then can you judge righteously, when you have not been inspired with the revelation of the prophecy, even, I've heard of people who had read the Holy Bible from cover to cover and could not even understand a single verse though the Holy Bible is written in plain English.

So people, please lets watch what we say because this is not a political issue but that which is concerning God; the Alfa and the Omega. Therefore , 'whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles, Proverbs 21:23’

And finally, ‘be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few, Ecclesiastes 5:2
So, 'suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands, Ecclesiastes 5:6

Just wonder how far all these blind gravitation towards religion and 'men of God' will lead us in this country.

@ All who promise hell for dissenters

All of you who have continued spreading peurile sentiments such as where those of us who refuse to accept as law the sanctity of so called men of God will end up, I have news for you!!

Who said we wanted to go to heaven in the first place If speaking what I personally believe is a truth will land me in hell, then you have just given me one more reason to reaffirm my conclusion that hell is nothing more than escapist reality!

and will you all stop painting God as  one freaked out old man ready to pounce on offending humans, ready to devour them

Pls feel free to accept every word that comes out of the mouth of your so call men of God; it's your funeral. But dont drag us along and pls dont insist that we need redemption.

Some of us already know where we are going when we die. at least id o: six feet below, in the company of ants and insects and worms and dust and decay. I look froward eagerly!!

Besides didnt the master Jesus say that the kingdom of heaven lies within? so that's where hell will be too, abi?

Abeg, second base o jare!!!  grin grin grin

Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by bolutito(f): 1:51pm On Aug 15, 2007
ok! i joined this forum hoping to interact with mature minds who intellectually discuss issues. basically this is going to be my first time (and hopefully, not the last) of posting anything on this forum.
@ seun, denex, i'm  shocked
watch what u say about people.
whether or not he wears designer suits, he doesnt buy them. (plus where u there when he was buying them?).
he isnt an attention-seeking preacher. whether or not he is truly a man of God is left to only one Person to judge- God Himself, and believe me, he would judge! he basically doesnt grant interviews, they come to church and instead of worshipping, they try to get stories- even if it means making it up.
Bakare doesnt av followers, he is only the presiding pastor of a church where there are other pastors. the nigerian "press" publish wateva they 1t as long as it would sell their stories.
when God sends u to deliver a message- rememba jonah?- u deliver it even if it doesnt make sense to u. it's the choice of the receiver to either accept it or go to Him in prayer for forgiveness. what if the message wasnt even literal? isnt obasanjo "dead" morally & spiritually?

Remember, God hates a lying tongue. By the way who anointed most of these Pastors? If I call my friend tomorrow to pour oil on my head, then I’m one of the anointed men of God. Some are backyard anointing. What’s the difference between Tunde Bakare and me? I still go out to evangelize, and visit prisoners, but not trying to blow my trumpet. Is it because I have not opened my own Church? Some of them pulled out from their churches because of misunderstanding (greed – I mean money wahala), yet they claimed God called them. Why not remain in the Church you were before God called you and serve Him there as you claim? You guys should have a big relax.

Hi all,

I do not intend to join issues with those who support Tunde Bakare, or those who oppose him. I only wish to draw your attention to these verses of Scripture:

Deu 18:21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
Deu 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

This seems to me a very simple way to judge if God inspired a man to make a prediction. These verses tell us, if a PROPHET speaks something in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen, then the Lord has not spoken. "Obasanjo will die", "April 19 elections will not hold" seem like predictions to me.

Anyone who wishes to make predictions in God's Name should be ready to submit to this standard. If what I predicted does not come to pass, then I must be ready to concede that God did not speak through me. To claim that "God spoke to me but, " is actually not Biblical.

O my God! bolutito, I didn't say Tunde Bakare wears designer suits.

And please go and settle your issue with Seun.

I am tired of all these crazy prophesiers. That's how the other slowpoke said go had given him the Nigerian Presidency in 2003?

In 2007 nko?

Please, let's stop all this rubbish.

I didn't say anything about designer suits either.

And I didn't delete any posts until just now (offtopic posts), so let's go back to the topic please.

Tunde Bakare once came to OAU-Ife to bamboozle us with tall tales he would never tell an adult or TV audience. For example, he claimed that some people were disrupting his crusade and snakes came out of the ground to bite them.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by valhalla: 10:29pm On Aug 15, 2007
@ seun

And some people believed the snakes story Yeeepa!! what was their brains made of, fried eggs

He should tell that to the birds!! I have always seen TB as a teacher. I used to enjoy his TV series but have always been bothered by his strong and undiluted choleric tendencies. He's very declarative, his word is the law kind of teacher. very articulate and convincing, but if you aresmart enough to question, he comes across as someone who doesnt value divergent opinions.

I just read a feature article on Billy Graham in the August 9 issue of TIME and he had this to say:

"We are not saved because of our own accomplishments, I am not going to Heaven because I have preached to great crowds or read the Bible many times. I'm going to Heaven just like the thief on the cross who said in that last moment: 'Lord, remember me.'"

Hope our bible-wielding, dagger-drawing, fire-spitting, head-banging, damnation-invoking and constantly rambling brothers and sisters in the lord can learn so lessons here.!!!! wink wink wink

who are we to judge? who brought this topic here for us to deliberate on? there are things we shouldn't run our mouth on, Being a real or fake prophet is not what we should start talking about in here because we are not sure who is who, what if you go yarn rubbish about a real prophet of God? do you know the consequences you are going to face?

Hi all,

I do not intend to join issues with those who support Tunde Bakare, or those who oppose him. I only wish to draw your attention to these verses of Scripture:

I agree with you on that one, they are human and sometimes they are prone to Human error, but that does not make them turn to be a false prophet, most of the prophet in the bible made mistakes too and proclaimed false prophesies too out of their human mind and thinking, so we shouldn't insult men of God even if you think they are not real.
And then to some people who took Tunde Bakare is a kid in the christain journey and are saying shits about him, some of us here were still sucking breast and playing with dolls when he started preaching, so do not comment or what you think you know that you don't even know

A situation where a pastor says "every one of you will ride a jeep this year" and members will answer amen and claim it even when many of them do not have jobs is bad.

You can live and sleep in the church everyday, without working you will only beg to eat, even the bible makes it clear.

Blind support and sometimes total agreement with everything a pastor says by his church members is on the increase with the average church goer preferring to tell you what his pastor says as against what the bible says.

Bakare misfired and it is a shame that you have people that still attempt to explain away very dangerous mistakes.

While we are still on Bakare, let us not forget Chris Okotie who claimed that God annointed him to rule Nigeria first in 2003 elections and then the last one held in 2007.

Are Nigerians so gullible that they cannot think with their heads again?

Little wonder Rev King was doing all he was doing and his members were more or less worshipping him.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by iyeyemi: 12:08pm On Aug 16, 2007
You know Man has always been so strikingly intelligent while at the same time irritatingly gullible.

The bible tells tales of 'God' commanding the Israelites to enter a town and destroy every living thing therein. They obeyed, almost to the last letter, women, children and the aged included, even the damned domestic chicken and goats. That of course aint different from the somebody strapping himself with explosives and killing over 300 of his own people along with himself cause he believes it's God's will.

Now the Pastor TB has erred, like the man that he is and he we are supposed not to point out that fact cause he is a Man of God? Then you start to meander around the issue, talking crap like prophesies should be viewed spiritually and all sh, Nigerians must be the blindest and most gullible set of people when it comes to faith.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Sammy79(m): 2:28pm On Aug 16, 2007
, i think it's not really time for us to judge but for those of us who believe in prayers, its time to pray for our country, especially

concerning the current CBN's currency re-decimation proposals. Yet there has been another prophecy from Pst Tunde Bakare which i believe

may have to do with this current policy

_____________________________________________________________________________

17th of May, 2007: The Vision of Nigeria's Economy

Dr. Tunde Bakare described the vision he saw on Thursday, 17th of May, 2007. He then went further to give the interpretation:

“Today, shortly after praying, I went into a vision. This is the vision upon my head:

I found myself in a corporate setting among the big wigs in the corporate world.Nigeria’s business tycoons and barons of industry were present at this meeting. I sat on a table. And on this table was a foremost lawyer and industrial guru sitting beside me. Shortly after we exchanged pleasantries, he got up to move forward to greet other people. After taking a few steps to greet them, he suddenly suffered a debilitating stroke and collapsed headlong. Then a young man got up immediately to begin to shove him on the floor until he managed to push him into a couch. I got up from where I was, laid hands on him and prayed.

Now to backtrack a little, twenty years ago, 1987 to be precise, I saw the same man. I was taken into his home town in the Spirit. I entered the house in the Spirit. He was casually dressed, playing Christian music on a grand Piano. I said to myself, “So this man is a Christian!” Then I heard a voice in the Spirit that said, “No, he is not a Christian; he is just playing Christian songs!” Subsequently, I found out that he was deep in the occult – he is a member of the Amorc. Eventually, a time came that we had an opportunity to meet. I wanted to witness to him to share with him what I saw in the Spirit, but the Holy Spirit restrained me – He said it wasn’t yet time!

This man suffered a debilitating stroke. So, as I laid hand on him and prayed in the name of the Lord, he said amen but he was weeping bitterly. And he said to me: “This shameful and embarrassing situation had happened to me before. I suffered this at the airport before; this is the second time. I hope I will recover.” I prayed for him again, and the vision ended.

In my humanity I thought the end of this man has come. But I was taken into the second vision.

In this second vision, I saw one of the members of the OASIS of The Latter Rain Assembly. She wrote me a letter. In the letter, there were four points of the devastation and lack that her family, husband and children were going through. Then as I began to pray, I saw the third vision:

I found myself in the car park of my house. As I was driving in, someone had blocked the place I should park my car. It was dark because there was no light. Then I saw someone in the dark meddling with a car. So I took torchlight and beamed it on the person – it was my late uncle. I asked him if I could give him a helping hand. Then I sent for an electrician. The electrician came and fixed the light. And as I was about to pay him, I brought out twenty-three pounds sterling. But the man asked for twelve pounds remuneration. I gave him the twenty-three pounds, and I asked for balance. Then, as I turned to my uncle to help him fix his flat tire, he suddenly turned to IBB (General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (Rtd.)), former military Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I looked at him sternly and asked him, “What are you doing here?” Then I came to myself.”

This is the interpretation:

“Thus says the Lord, the Nigerian Economy is about to suffer a debilitating stroke. That means the current economic bubble is about to burst. Consequently, the nation will be brought to her knees, and if care is not taken, the severity of the famine will pave way for discredited leaders to look like saints and take over again.

The man that suffered a debilitating stroke in the first vision represents the best of Nigerian Economy. The economy is about to suffer stroke. It will impact the high, the low, and the mighty people, even within the church. It will be so devastating; nonetheless, God has a plan for His people.

The person I saw in the second vision typifies the severity of the famine in the land while the third one stands for the discredited leader that will want to take advantage of the famine to get into power.

The Lord told me the reason for the stroke that will hit the economy is a result of bloodshed in the land. There would be no formula that could fix it except we revisit the issue and intercede for mercy (2 Sam 21:1-22).

It doesn’t matter how severe the famine would be, God’s covenant people would be protected. There is a protection of God over everything that belongs to God’s people. Famine is one of the yardsticks that God uses to show the difference between His people and those who are not His. Because as severe as the famine was in Gerar in the days of Isaac, he sowed in that year and received a hundredfold (Gen 26:1-12).

Therefore, let us thank God for revealing these things to us. Let us pray for God’s mercy, that He may send succour to us from His sanctuary. May the giants of the land be slain once and for all, so that Nigeria can truly fulfill her destiny. May the wickedness of the wicked be upon him, for the Lord will not destroy the righteous with the wicked. Those who have made a covenant with God will be exempted from this famine. There is hope for Nigeria!”

, for those of us with discerning hearts will understand that the current CBN policy is geared towards 're-instating' the Nigerian economy to what it was

before the SAP/ IBB's era, all of these where reflected in this prophecy, !!!!!!

simple logical reasoning!!!
somebody was parked where he was supposed to park;
there was no light;

so his car does not have headlamps abi,am i the one not thinking properly cos he is facing where the car is supposed to be parked so his headlamps must be on.

in fact i am really pissed i cant go on decimating this woteva u call it but its not a prophecy.will somebody please delete it

I am not really particular about bakare's prophecy,i dont want to criticise him either, but people should stop saying that becuase Yar Adua is not a christian that God cannot use him to make nigeria great.

When those who always claim to hear from God everyday inflicted so much pain on us,why should we not belive that our president is God sent? Is it becos he is a muslim,we have all been created in his image.

To be quite honest with you if the way obasanjo and odili behaved in their areas of responsbility is what christianity is all about then i am not interested, i will rather be a Muslim than be like them.

Pastor Tunde Bakare is a man of God, am not a member of his gathering, but i listened to a message where he openly confessed he slept with a member of his church then.Who among all this modern day ministers can do this? Lets not judge so as not to be judged.

Tunde Bakare never confessed that he slept with a church member, it was one of his pastors then that had an affair with someone in the church

@denex
am really surprised that you talk like this. which one you dey. as for me Tunde Bakare is a true man of GOD. the bible says and i quote "test every spirit, " why don't you just come for a service i believe its somethingelse you will be posting on nairaland when u must have received confirmation that he is truly a man of GOD.

Abeg, what substance are you currently abusing? just so i will know what to stay away from grin grin grin

We actually need more of him? and you are convinced, with no apparent empirical evidence, that more of TB will solve all of Nigeria's problems??

What will i do with you ppl who make such statements, ask u to see a shrink?

pls note that i am least concerned with the authenticity of TB's claim to being a man of God, or better still the insistence of choiristers here, but worried by the fact that ppl actually think we need saviour self-elects or men of god to find solution to our nations problems!!!

I wonder if people who talk like this have heard of places like India and China; they are not exactly christian the last time i checked!!

Abeg make una gree person hear better thing bo! Men of God ko, men of God ni!!!!!
