Greetings and love to everyone, the challenges of this country is no news to anyone as we all feel the impact one way or the other in our daily lives. There's no need to state the obvious, painfull as it all is one can only help but wonder if there would ever be hope for this country, everyday we wake up to bad news and sleep to more bad news, our situation as a nation never seems to be getting any better.
From the audacity of bandits to attack randomly at will without any meaningful resistance to the pathetic nature of leadership we have been forced to endure for years, we cant even say it's an APC problem because if we all try to be honest with ourselves we would know nigeria has been on a downward spiral since before the civil war, it just so happens to be in a worst state with this current government.
But this is not the painfull part, not even close, the fact that we hate ourselves so badly is just what remains our greatest undoing, from tribalism to religion differences, there's just no shortage of reasons for Nigerians to go after each others neck, something that is very obvious in almost all sectors of the country, even on this forum the hate is felt.
Yet, we wonder why we can't grow as a nation, we wonder why our mis-leaders don't give a damn about the common Nigerian man,woman and child, why they steal our resources and use the power we allow them to wield against us, to keep the country impoverished and plundered, they have succeeded in making us believe that our brothers and sisters are our enemy just because he or she belongs to a different tribe or religion. They use our hate against us.
Would this country ever work? It pains me to wake up everyday to the realisation that we are a third world country,with high rate of poverty and corruption even with all our potentials.
I only wish we all would wake up and work together with one goal and one vision, i only wish all could see ourselves as Nigerians first before our individual tribes and religion, i only wish we would know that we deserve more than what we are currently facing and no human should live like we do in poverty and underdevelopment caused by the corruption of our leaders, i only wish that we understand that these people that set out to destroy us are not above us and we have the power over them if only we unite.
We all saw what happened in Sri Lanka, i only could imagine how it would be for such to happen to Nigeria.
I don't know where we are headed if we continue like this,but it doesn't look good. However, we can still make a difference. I made a conscious decision to get my pvc, prior to now i have never bothered myself with election process, i always felt the system is riged and it doesn't matter if one votes or not, the votes won't count, but that was before, right now it doesn't matter if it counts or not, i owe it to myself and my country to still try,i honestly don't know if it would make any difference but i would for the first time cast my votes because i love this country and even if my generation wont get to see it work, my greatest hope is that the next generation would have a better nigeria to be proud of, and i would do my part to make that happen However little it is.
i know there are others out there who feel the same, i just have one message to you, WE ARE ENOUGH.
