Christians tend to talk down on Moslems for being radical especially when you blasphem. But they on the other hand cant stand it when someone becomes illuminated and sees religion for what it is. They'll literally bannish you amongst them.

And people don't like being wrong or 'stupid'

So when you front your irreligious views and show people certain truths you'll be at the receiving end of that hatred. Which is why superstitious people dread atheists and irreligious people.


Then you have gradual acceptance because it's evident but you never had someone show it to you in a different angle before


I only engage in religious topics if I notice you have passed at least the first 2 stages of dealing with the shock of accepting the truth.

I had to fill out a form recently to support my wife in something important, I just knew that identifying as an atheist was going to cause problems for my wife so I just filled out Christian. Even my boss at work told me to tune down on identifying as an atheist in public because people get nasty about that stuff and she is right. Our clime is not exactly welcoming to atheists so my advise is where ever you can sense any form of resistance to the idea of atheism just sidestep it, you don't have to put on holier than thou attitude or form being a Saint, neutral noncommittal works just as well. No need to try acting ultra religious to get by. I still go to church with my family and even occasionally pray even though they know I don't believe, it takes nothing away from me.

everyone where I live knows I'm an atheist. I made that very clear to the first person that attempted to make me become a member of her church and the news spread from there. since then I wore it like a badge and I'm unapologetic about it. At work I made it known to only one person and the person seems to have kept it to himself although he does make some attempts at proselytising once in a while but I'm having none of it. As for my business places I told only one of my employees that I'm an atheist and she seemed to have told some people but whenever people attempt to bring it up in a conversation I just sidestep, change the conversation or say it not sensible not to believe in a god and I'd like to sit with people that don't to hear how they came to such a conclusion. the only reason I avoid being an open atheist in my business is simply business reason. Many people you'd tell you're an atheist starts seeing you as some pagan fetish person lol
